But when the serial killer targets the women, they realized that there's a connection to him and who's in the fold that's been breaching their security, especially when it's closer to Bernie's family. Together they discover who it is and find the happiness they need.

When one of her patients causes trouble and complaints about him, she investigates the matter with her own concerns. When two people raid her clinic, she falls for one of them, who's ends up being an undercover agent, and changes her life while keeping her own secrets. It's a great cross of a great medical drama and contemporary romance.

In this novel, Karen Robards puts us right in the middle of danger. Someone is after Maddie Fitzgerald, who started her own advertising company, and have a secret of her own. When there's a hit on her life, she meets FBI agent, Sam McCabe, who's in charge of protecting her, while other people have been killed and taunted by the killer by phone. When she meets McCabe, they butt heads. Later, they fall in love, knowing they're right for each other. When the truth comes out in the open, it puts a kink into their relationship, when he discovers her real name and story, running and hiding from the mob, who are also after him. In the end, her past meets up with her, until McCabe saves her. What a great read.

If you love great adventurous thrillers on the water, you would love the Ripple Effect. It's one year after 9/11, and Aiden Page is presumed dead from the Twin Towers crash, along with his brother. Little did they know, that both of them escaped and hiding out--AIden's in trouble with the law, while Charlie's in paradise. And when Aiden accidentally called his daughter Morgan, it sent her on a sailing mission to find and reconnect with her dad, while they were other people after him for different reasons. And when they meet, their reunion is more than bittersweet. What a great suspense novel!

In the fourth installment of the Matthew Scudder series, Matt Scudder is assigned a 9-year-old cold case murder of Barbara Ettinger from her father, Charles London. Scudder, ex-cop and an alcoholic, is on the case, and talked to the people involved in the case, including her family. One by one, he's building up facts and compiling theories, while people tried to scare him off. He didn't phase him. He kept on talking to people and revisiting the clues, until he solved it right into the end. A good quick read.

It's up to Zoe and Jon to find her before it's too late, and before she's the next victim. What a thrilling read!

Since police protection failed her, when she almost died, she went down to Arizona to meet JT Dillon, a former mercenary, and asked him to teach her how to fight and survive back. Little did they know, they both excess baggage and care about each other. Beckett is a serial killer on the run, escaping from prison, and going after her. It's do or die. This book will leave you breathless and speechless.

And all fingers points to Rachel Brenner's brother, Dan Thayer, who's in hiding and suspicious. But she believes he's innocent and being framed--so does Rachel's son Sam and his friends Carrie and Ray. Sullivan and Rachel butt heads, but together they find out the truth a bit deeper behind the college, when someone else's murdered. And more suspicion is piled up on Dan, especially when the third body pops up. In the end, it's someone they didn't expect who's real evil and behind the scheme.

Here's my final book review for 2011. Happy new year everyone. This is the first book of the Flynn brothers trilogy. Aidan and his two brothers inherit their old family plantation in New Orleans, post-Katrina, since their aunt died. When Aidan Flynn, PI, discovered a bone at the home, he began investigating this matter and discovers that it's from one of the missing women in the area. He also meets Kendall Montgomery, a psychic who sees the future and ghosts, and collides with her. Little did they know, things heat up for them, when there's a killer watching them and ghosts from his homestead haunt his home. When he gets closer to the truth, it's up to Aidan and the lonely souls there to stop the murders. A lovely romantic suspense with a hint of a ghost story.

If you love a real good thriller, you'll enjoy the 2nd book in the John Driscoll series. In The Screaming Room, someone is targeting tourists in New York City. One by one, they're found in landmarks and found scalped like Indians. Later on, they find out from blood from a broken toenail that they're dealing with identical fraternal twins, Cassie and Angus Claxonn, who are after them for one reason: revenge on the sexual abuse they endured from their dad. And that bridges the connection between all of them, even when Malcolm Shewster's daughter is one of the victims, and is on the scene to go after them. Once they're exposed, they make their threats known to the final end, when they go after someone Driscoll cares about. What a wild ride!

When someone else gets killed, it makes them dig further into the background of family secrets, lies, betrayal and a cold case. For Lynley, he has a hint of jealousy to his lady love, Lady Helen Clyde. As they get closer to the truth, they close in further to the suspicions of one or two narrowed suspects, right before someone gets assaulted. Now it's a game of whodunit, right until the final end. What a rush!

John Quinn from the FBI resurfaces into her life after five years, when she's now divorced and lost her daughter to illness. Now she has to battle her emotions from the past and focus on the case before. Later on, the tables are turned, when puzzling new evidence is into play, and the truth of the role of her witness comes into play, when she realizes how come the killer is to her and wants her dead. This would keep you guessing right to the end.

Head to head, they save Lucy and bring down Task, while Kate falls in love with Dillon and have to pay the price for hiding out in Mexico for a few years. A red hot ending to the trilogy.

Spratt and Mary deal with Humpty's life and discovers some troubling secrets about him, like his two marriages, his drinking problem, and many more. Not only that, they deal with some suspicious characters and Friedland Chymes, who has it in for Jack at the Guild. Fast-paced with a hint of humor and a great mystery, you'll get a great read out of this one.

Lately, she put together the past history and the recent cases to find the common links and the Demon Lord's hidden messages to her. In the end, there's a surprising twist I wouldn't dare to give away. It rocked!

But when her life's in danger and dies, she makes an ultimate sacrifice and becomes a goddess herself to spend the rest of her life with him. What a great paranormal romance.

Every step of the way, they did deeper into the history between the bell clipper from a lost ship, and the hidden meaning behind the symbolism. This would keep you up and off your seats for a fast read.

In part three, she has an estranged relationship with her father between the visits and years go by, as she tries to remember what happened, when she's an adult. In the end, she reunites with Goldie, her best friend, Adam her crush and new love, and her dad, when she remembers what happened and moves on. Also, it's so informative on marine life and whales, that's so touching and perfect for the story of forgiveness, love, loss and life. Bring your tissues!

In Confession, Travis Boyette, a dying man comes into a Kansas church and confesses that he killed a girl, eight years ago, when an innocent man is on Death Row, set to be executed by lethal injection in Texas. Keith Schroeder and Boyette travel to Texas to stop the execution, while Donte Drumm's lawyers tries everything to save his life. On the Day of the execution, Robbie Flak goes all out and asks for a stay, esp. when Boyette is taped to confess the murder and where he hid the body in Missouri. Everyone was skeptic and shocked, when they believe they got the right guy. After his execution, he's exonerated post-humorous, while Boyette is on the run and later caught. I can't tell you what happens in between. It's a great page-turner.

A Thrilll of Victory

If you love classic romances, you'll love this easy read by Sandra Brown. Stevie Corbett is a famous teen player who collapsed during a match. Judd Mackie is the journalist who's scooping her story. They have a love/hate relationship, as they became friends, when she reveals about her ovarian cancer and the worries about her losing her dreams of having a baby. During the two weeks, they get to know each other better. They fall in love, while decisions are made, and Judd writing a novel, while taking a break from the newspaper. They reveal things about each other. In the end, they get a happy ending. I don't want to give it a way.

She's just trying to start a new business, when she witnesses a hit-and-run, and later meets Marco Salvare, a sexy Italian ex-cop. They butt heads. Later on, she gets involved with Pearl Harding, who wants to divorce her husband and seek financial support for her disabled son. Not only that, she has many run-ins with the cops who's after her, giving her a hard time, when she meets the Vertucci's. When a dead body turns up, she investigates and realizes that the two cases are involved with one other, which puts her into trouble. A quick read!

Hangman

If you love great serial mysteries, you'll enjoy the next installment in the Decker/Lazarus storyline. In Hangman, Decker is reunited with Terry McLaughlin and Chris Whitman, a case from fifteen years ago in the book Justice, with their grown up 15-year-old son Gabriel. First it was a domestic violence dispute, then she disappears. That leaves Gabe homeless, since his dad disappeared too, when the Decker took him in. As he's approaching sixty and grandfatherhood, he's on a case of Adrianna Blanc, who have been found hanging by a rope. On the case, they talk to her family and friends, and try to figure out what went wrong at work. As they get closer, another dead body turns up, while they search for cold cases and a trail to Las Vegas. The pieces fall into place, when another victims is found burned alive and another man have disappeared on the scene. A great mystery.

Last year, I read Trust Me by Brenda Novak. This year, I've read Stop Me, the second book in the Last Stand series. In this series, Jasmine Stratford is looking for her younger sister, Kimberly, who vanished 16 years ago. When she receives a mysterious package on her sister's disappearance. She goes to New Orleans to search for Romain Fornier, a widower who lost his daughter Adele from a kidnapping and was later found dead. At the beginning, they couldn't stand one another. Later, they fall in love and find the truth on both disappearances, when they're into deep into an illegal adoption ring, and the people they trust isn't who or what they seem. Great romance set in the bayou.

If you love beautiful fantasy novels, this is the one for you. A classic that's to be cherished for everyone in all ages. This story has a lovely lyrical narrative of the last unicorn on earth. She's on the quest to find the rest of her species. She teams up with Schmenderick the Magician and Molly Grue, when there's dangers every way from Mother Fortuna's Midnight Carnival to Hagsgate. When she faces the Red Bull, she turns to Lady Amaltea, who tries not to fall in love with Prince Lir, and in the end, she chooses to say goodbye and reunite with her family. In 1982, it was made into an animated movie. This is beautiful and moving.

It's up to Eve Dallas and the police department to find out who. While Eve tries to figure out her relationship with Roarke, she digs a bit of info into DA Towers's background and talks to her family. When they think they figured it out, an actress named Yvonne Metcalf is killed the same way, her umbrella stolen. So they dug into her background to dig into a connection between the two murders. One step of the way, they thought they had the right guy. The Towers family falls apart due to accusations and blames Eve and the NYPSD. A third female is killed, perhaps the wrong one by mistake, and once they figure it out more, they've gotten the right guy under their nose. What a good read!

Secrets and lies are exposed. In the end, they really get up and close to find out who've done it and why. A great debut!

Boneyard

If you love explosive thrillers, you'll love the second installment in the Kelly Jones series, Boneyard. In this novel, Kelly Jones is assigned to a disturbing case of bones found at a local national park, right before she leaves for her overdue vacation. She's assigned to Massachussetts, when they uncover a boneyard of dead bodies. What they don't know was the killer was someone they might know in the distance, someone who doesn't like male gay hustlers. It hits close to home for Kelly's task force, especially when dead bodies are found in New York and also in Massachusetts. What's worse was there was a copycat out there, who has revenge for his own. When her boyfriend Jake Riley pops up, he helps out in the case, and has a proposal for Kelly of his own, before it might be too late for Kelly and her task force. What a thrill ride!

When they're later do turn up missing, it's up to Alex and the police to pick up the pieces of their lives, with eclectic cast of characters, including the Dowds. When other cold cases turn up with missing people, they wonder if it's connected to the same crime or not. Not only that, Alex's relationship with Robin gets closer, when winds up hurt by a disgruntled psychologist. In the end, they turn up a shocking discovery of where the missing went, and why. This would keep you really guessing to the end.

Once they learn what they're up to, it's up to Pitt and NUMA to bring them down, when they're a lot of betrayal and angst from World War Two. When the Japanese hatch a plan to destroy it by blackmail by nuclear bombs, it's up to Dirk Pitt and NUMA to save the world against evil Japanese politicians who want to rule it, and stop it from happening. What a rush!

Not only that, there's the birders who's scouting for puffins and an angry artist named Victor Resnick, who didn't like trespassers. When they've reported his shooting to Jeb Barnes, they have to report to the police. Later on, they witness an argument between Resnick and someone else. During the storm, Resnick ended up dead. It's up to find out who, when there's an island of people who hate his guts, including Rhapsody, a children's book writer on puffins, while they discover some family secrets in Meg's family closet. When they've got it all figured out, they're trapped by the murder, who tried to burn them in flames. What a great humorous mystery.

If you love great mysteries, you'll enjoy Justice, another great book in the Lazarus/Decker series. Peter Decker is worried on his eldest daughter Cindy, who's at college, when a rapist hits their campus. While he's investigating the case, you'll get to see the story between Terry, a nerdish tutor to Chris Whitman, the nephew of a mob boss, and their obsessive love affair, when a murder happens on Prom Night, and this couple is torn apart. It's up to Decker to nail the killer and put away the bad guy. But due to Whitman's good eye and story, he does get locked up for a crime he doesn't commit, and he tries to tie up loose ends, which puts a strain to his career. In the end, things took a wicked turn for Terry and for Decker. A great compelling read.

But can Holly find out who done it, when before she's nex t in line? A great quick read.

Flower's battles with her white father and being taunted, Abigail Dowling, an abolitionist, who helps free slaves and the KKK, Willie's years in the war, amongst other characters in their POVs. There's a lot of drama and a hint of romance here, while the war goes on and after it ends. This is a good one who can't miss for an enjoyable read.

I've heard there's a final book in the installment that would close out the series. In this one, Beatrix leaves London, after she purchased Hill Top Farm, while Sawrey mourns the loss of Abigail Tolliver, and wondered how she died. There's been talk about murder by poison, when Sarah Berwick comes to town, inheriting Anchor Cottage. Meanwhile, there's Beatrix's bew neighbors who don't know what to think about her, as her animals talk amongst themselves, helping her solves mysteries and missing items. If you love Dr. Doolittle, you'll love this series.
