In Stephanie Dray's Lily of the Nile, the first installment in the Cleopatra's daughter historical fiction/romance series, she had taken account on altering history with a fictional touch.  For Cleopatra Selene, her world changed, when her mother committed suicide. Now her two brothers and herself are wards of the Roman emperor and orphans without a home. Forced to live with Gaius Juba's home, she joined her half-brothers and sisters and learned how the Roman ruled the world.  For this preteen female, it was up to her to save her brothers from the Roman empire and lived with the magic from the Isaics temple with blood-written hieroglyphics on her arms. While she lived in a home filled with family secrets and new rules, especially when her twin escaped from their new home, an arranged marriage was set with her, when her younger brother became ill. She would stop to nothing from preventing the emperor one of his own and for himself.

This was a wonderful historical romance novel that dealt with the Ptolemic mythical history in the past. This was well focused on Selene as she and her twins went through a lot. For this former princess turned prisoner, she was one tough cookie. I cared at her and her brothers all the way and wondered what she had gotten herself into. I loved the mythical and historical woven facts and the Roman locations and settings to make you feel about her. This would take you into a whole new world with non-stop action, drama, a hint of romance and plenty of intrigue.

Waiting for Your Love

In Anna De Stefano's Waiting for Your Love, the next installment in the Echoes of the Heart contemporary romance novella series, this story is about Clair Summerville and her turn for romance. Set in Chanderville, Georgia, Clair Summerville looked for love in all the wrong places with dead-end relationships that went nowhere. With her mother playing matchmaker, she built her world on her business for pet sitting with an app to avoid her. She always relied on her best friend since kindergarten, Conrad Lancaster, a widower with a young son. They've been friends forever, but they both want to take things to another level and love each other more. When a chance merger for her business to relocate to Charlotte, Clair needed to decide on what she want and what's worth fighting for. In the end, she decided to follow her heart and make her dreams come true with Conrad.

This was a beautiful contemporary romance novella from Anna De Stefano, once more. I cared about Clair on how she followed her heart to be with the one who's right for her and how she made a success story of her own. I adored Harper and Conrad, who went through a lot, and took a chance with Clair to make things right. I continue to love the Chandlerville GA settings and locations to make things surreal. This would warm your heart from start to finish with romance, non-stop action, drama and intrigue.

Edge of Sight

In Roxanne St. Clare's Edge of Sight, the first installment in the Guardian Angelinos romantic suspense series, this novel would leave you breathless and at the edge of her seat. When Samantha Fairchild witnessed a murder in the wine cellar of the restaurant she worked out, it had literally sent him running for the hills. And when someone came after her, she ran into her ex-flame Zach Angelino as she hid into her friend Vivi's apartment. From there, she needed Zach to protect her from the hit man who wanted to see her dead. And Vivi, Zach's twin sister, suggested Zach to protect her while she investigated the murder itself. As she ducked for cover in a safe house with Zach, they came to terms about their feelings for each other and resolved issues, including why didn't didn't contact her during the war. Though one-eyed with all of the guilt and battle scars on him and in him, he told her the truth and stopped the killer from coming after her with the big reveal on who was really behind the hit on her with a shocking end.

This was a beautiful and explosive romantic suspense novel in a brand new series. I cared about Samantha and how she overcame obstacles to defeat the odds. I also adored Zach and Vivi, who were two of a kind in their own Italian family way. In spite of Zach losing his eye in the war, it showed how diversity and how beauty is only skin deep from the inside-out. I loved the Boston suburban area for the scenic locations and glorious scenery. This would have you gasp, leave you breathless and speechless, and at the edge of the seat with intrigue, non-stop action, drama, and plenty of heated romance along the way.

In Bonnie Leon's To Love Anew, the first installment in the Sydney Cove historical/inspirational romance series, she wrote us a captivating romance about redemption through the Lord and finding new love again. Set in the 1800s in London,Hannah Talbot had lost everything, when her mother died as she couldn't paid the rent. Forced to work for a cruel employer, he had taken advantage of her and banished her to work on a prisoner ship. For John Bradshaw, he was a successful business man, who was betrayed by the people who mean the most to him and sentenced to work on the same ship. Both of them worked hard labor and meet new people on the trip to New South Wales, Australia. While Hannah harbored a terrible secret from her past, a connection between Hannah and John had formed. When they arrived as prisoners on a new land, they worked for the same family and dealt with new conflicts along the way. And only they became to love anew and find their way to each other with help from our Lord's forgiveness.

This was a beautiful and touching historical, inspirational romance novel that pulled at my heart strings and made me cry. I instantly cared for Hannah and how she was mistreated in London, when Ruby was a kind soul to her. I felt the same way for John whose wife and cousin were cruel. But I loved how they came together by working on the same ship and then on the same land. I loved the dual locations of England and Australia, plus on the water that showed how cruel fate can be to others. This would make you pray, weep, and kick a pillow along the way in every captivating page. This has romance, suspense, drama and non-stop action with intrigue.

Murder is Binding

In Lorna Barrett's Murder is Binding, the first installment in the Booktown Cozy Mystery series, a brand new series from Lorna Barrett with the theme of books and reading.  For Tricia Miles, she was new to Stoneham New Hampshire and just opened her used bookstore, Haven't Got a Clue. It started out for her, when her neighbor Doris Gleason was killed in her store. As a fellow newbie, all eyes were on her as the prime suspect. Then when Winnie was hit by a car, this small town have been rocked by two murders, the first in over sixty years. And once again, the sheriff blamed Tricia. If there wasn't enough going on, her sister arrived in town, someone handed out tracts for a nudist columnist retreat, and more surprises came in store  for her with Doris's twin sister and the selectman's suspicious motives. As they uncovered the truth, the more lives were in peril until it became almost deadly for them with a surprising twist in the end.

This was a delightful new cozy series from Lorna Barrett. I loved the small town effect for Stoneham NH and the visual close-knit neighborhood for this fictional town, too. I cared about Tricia and Angelica as sisters and individually. They both suffered a lot and been though tons, too. I didn't like Sheriff Adams at all either. This would hook you like a great book and take you on an adventure like no other for a quick read with drama, non-stop action, suspense and intrigue.

A Witness Above

In Andy Straka's A Witness Above, the first installment in the Frank Pavlicek Mystery series, we were introduced to the world of falconry and the world of corruption. For Frank Pavlicek, a former NYPD detective who moved to Virginia, it all started when he and his red-tailed hawk Armistead came across a dead body in the field. That's when things tend to get difficult for him, when he dealt with the sheriff and his deputies, when they become suspicious of him. To make matters worse, his daughter Nicole were arrested for drugs in connection with the murder. As Frank discovers the truth behind Dewayne Parker's murder, he becomes embroiled in the world of corruption that stemmed back in New York City and traced it back to the gun that killed his friend's partner. Add in a suspicious drug lord that had connections to them, all for money and greed. Before he knew it, his own ex-wife becomes a link to it and his own daughter's held hostage from the person he trusted the most with a shocking end.

This was a real good introduction to Frank Pavlicek and his world of falconry in Virginia. I cared about him and how he wanted to reconnect with his daughter Nicole to get through this crisis. I didn't like Cowan or Frank's ex Camille that much. I thought Cat Cahill was a bit slimy. I loved the vast location and settings for Virginia, especially for the falcon scenes. This would make you soar like a falcon and take off in flight with great writing that has non-stop action, drama, intrigue and plenty of mystery.

Love Walks IN

In Samantha Chase's Love Walks In, the 2nd installment in the Shaughnessy brothers contemporary romance series, this romance novel teaches us about life and how to live a little. For Hugh Shaughnessy, he's a hotel magnate and is in a rut, when his assistant quits on him. As the second oldest brother in his family, he's all business and doesn't have time for fun. That's when he meets Aubrey Burke, who walked into his hotel and got caught in his window. At first, they needed each other to work out their problems. Aubrey's an only child who's only parents doesn't love her enough and needed to spread her own wings. She helped Hugh out in a pinch to deal with his crisis at his hotel. Hugh felt guilty for causing his mother's dead, when he was a teen. But when he met Audrey, he opened it more and begin to feel for each other like they know in their relationship. As he talked about the future, Aubrey remained uncertain and pushed him away to deal with his own issues. In the end, they needed each other to live and love each other more.

This was a beautiful and heart-warming contemporary romance. I really cared about Hugh and Aubrey, alone and together, as a whole. They've both had emotional baggage they've carried for so long. Sometimes they just needed to let it go. I love the California, Montana, and the other various settings for the multiple locations for this romance. This would make you want to laugh, scream and cry for them with a heavy heart. This would move you with its non-stop action, drama, intrigue and romance along the way.
