That Scandalous Summer

In Meredith Duran's That Scandalous Summer, the first installment in the Rules for the Reckless historical romance series, this love story is sexy, steamy, and daringly scandalous. For Michael de Grey, the Duke of Marwick's brother, he'd watched his brother's health decline after his sister-in-law's recent death. But in his miserable state, he gave him an ultimatum. If he doesn't find a bride to provide a heir, he would shut down his hospital. So Michael set off to leave him to his own devices and make his own name for his self, no matter how penniless he might be. In Bosbrea, he's known as Michael Grey, a country doctor who discovered a drunken woman in his rose bushes. After he'd taken care of her needs, he later met her as Lady Elizabeth "Liza" Chudderly, a widow who's down on her luck and has found another way to keep her estate running. For Liza, she'd gotten her heart broken an didn't know what to expect, when she encountered Michael behind his facade as a country doctor. They form a friendship and worked well together, when they've gotten to know each other better. But both of them have secrets to hide. And after a daring kiss, things do heat up between them, when they want more. At a ball, Michael's been found out that he lied to her about everything, except for his feelings for her. He doesn't want anybody else for her but himself. But when Liza's blackmailed and his brother's doesn't hedge on what he wants from him, it's up to them to find a way to become together and find their own happy ending with a wedding.

This was a terrific and an amusing historical romance novel. I did care for Liza and how she'd found her way to follow her heart for true love. I hated to see her broken-hearted and also mesmerized about Michael. But I did have found Mather and Jane a hoot as her close companions. I did find Michael charming and a man of his true word in spite of his brother Alister's ill health. He'd found this true calling as a doctor who knows what's best for the people in his community. The scenic locations around London had fascinating settings from Bosbrea to London during that time period. This would sweep you off your feet with non-stop romantic drama, plenty of passionate intrigue, lots of action, and sparks of mystery to wrap it up with a bow.

Will you be charmed to read That Scandalous Summer in 2020?

Caught Dead in Philadelphia

In Gillian Roberts's Caught Dead in Philadelphia, the first installment in the Amanda Pepper mystery series, this debut will keep you in suspense and laughing at juicy tidbits of humor. For Amanda Pepper, she was a high school English teacher in Philadelphia, when she discovered her friend's Liza Nichols's dead body in her home. From there, she kept wondering who would've done such a thing to Liza, who had everything going right in her life.  Then she met a sweet-talking Southern police officer named Detective C.K. Mackenzie, who was assigned to the case. At first, they didn't get off well in the first hitch, when he accused Amanda of being a prime suspect. But Amanda did some sleuthing of her own and dug closer into her social life on stage as a local theater actress and also in her personal life. Who would do such a thing to her? But when someone wanted to talk to her about her murder, things turned awry when he wound up dead in his home. Now, Amanda's a bit shaken and needs Mackenzie's protection, because she believes she's next. While she continued to guess what the C. stands for in his initials, they get to know each other better as they put the pieces together and laid it out in front of them. But when she thought she had figured out with a death threat and then a scare at the local fair, she came across the one person who she didn't suspect and learned why her friend died by a senseless death in the end.

This was an interesting and amusing debut from Gillian Roberts. I did care for Amanda and how she would dealt with her friend's death. I loved the snarky bits with her phone conversations about Herman the bald parrot--it made me laugh out loud and sometimes snort. I did become amused on C.K.'s Southern charm and wondered what his initials stood for too. We might have to keep reading the other 10-plus books in the series to find out in the end. I loved the Philly locations and the gripping scenic scenes in the storyline that made it feel so picturesque. This would keep you rooted to the edge of your seat with non-stop actions, tons of humorous drama, good sparks of intrigue and lots of suspense to keep us hooked on every single page.

I'm Traveling Alone

In Samuel Bjork's I'm Traveling Alone, the first installment in the Holger Munch and Mia Kruger thriller series, this debut is so intense and chilling, it would leave you at the edge of the seat. It all started when someone found a little girl hanging from the tree like an angel and called the police. That started the hunt for a killer when Detective Holger Munch lead his Violent Crimes team in Sweden. For Holger, he smokes a lot and dealt with his daughter's wedding and dealing with his ex-wife Marianne. But when another little girl has been snatched, he needed his former partner, Mia Kruger, to help come back to the force to assist his team on this sinister case. For Mia, she planned to join her twin sister Sigrid in Heaven, who died from an OD many years ago. She wasted her body away, but Holger's request to help him with this case had brought her back to the living. Together, they put together the pieces to this dark sinister puzzle by decoding the clues and finding the link together. Deep in the forest, there's a religious sect that might be part of this scheme as two other missing girls turns up missing and later reported dead. But someone's tantalizing Holger and Munch and getting too close and personal, when Mia believes Holger's granddaughter Marion is the next one  on the list. It's up to them to catch the right killer in time and save Marion in time in a fight to the finish in this fast-paced thriller.

This debut was dark, creepy, and spine-tingling to sum it up. I cared for Holger and Mia as individuals and also a helluva team to work together in this most complex case. What a way to introduce this duo along with their quirks to make us care of them. I did feel for Mia who had nothing much to fight or live for, except for maybe her job as a police officer on the team. And for Holger, who cares for his family, and needs to be more devoted to his family. I don't blame him for smoking when stress gets the best for him. I loved the vast scenic settings and the compelling locations across Sweden from the forests and everywhere in between to help paint a vivid picture. This thriller has non-stop action, plenty of fast--paced suspense, tons of drama, and a wallop of mystery to keep you hooked from the start.

Will you be there to stop a catch a killer in I'm Traveling Alone today?

Scarcity

In Randall Wood's Scarcity, the third installment in the Jack Randall thriller series, this installment deals with organ transplantation across the board. It all started when Anita Ruiz was kidnapped in Mexico City, and Tessa Lamar crashed her car in Washington D.C.--one loses her life and another gets one from Mexico--those two were among other senseless tragedies when one life was stolen for another, when it was scarce for seriously ill patients get a new organ around the world. For FBI Jack Randall, he's on the case when he learned about a secret operation that deals with drug smuggling from Mexico to the USA and a black market sting to procure hearts. And how one notorious drug carter leader is the next victim to get a new heart on the transplant list. That's when Jack and Interpol Agent Lenny Hill deals with serious matters on where these new hearts came from. For two heart surgeons, they deal with two patients whose lives were in their hands and how they kept the hearts freshly going with a POPS machine, a new device for the medical world. In a matter of life and death, this fast-pace thriller would keep you guessing right to the end on how it came to a head and a heartbeat away...

This was a very dramatic thriller that has some medical thriller elements in it to keep you at the edge of your seat. I did feel bad for Tessa Lamar and for little Anita, who were two of the young victims that had gotten sucked into this devious and heinous plot. I did care for Jack on how he uncovered the sinister mastermind behind it and how some evil cretins had gotten their just desserts. I did like the vast locations from Mexico City to the USA and Afghanistan that has some startling and also mesmerizing scenic settings through and through in this gripping thriller.  This would keep you hooked and reel you in on a wild and dangerous ride with non-stop action, plenty of suspense, a helping of medical drama, and a dose of mystery to keep you enthralled right to the end.

The One For You

In Roni Loren's The One for You, the fourth installment in the Ones who Got Away contemporary romance series, this loveswept romance novel is so gut-wretching and tear-jerking from start to finish. In high school, Kincaid Breslin and Ashton Isaacs were best friends who looked out for each other, and survived a high school massacre during prom night. But while they mourned their lost friends, they've crossed the line once in a one night for passion. Now twenty years later, Kincaid is a real estate agent and made a name for herself when she brought a farmhouse with high hopes to turn it into a B&B someday if she could afford to turn it around someday. Meanwhile, she'd been unlucky in love throughout her life and loved working in the bookstore that became her home. Ashton Isaacs is  best-selling thriller writer under the name of Ashton Stone, and returns to his former stomping ground while he was dealing with writer's block. But when he ran into Kincaid, old feelings and flashbacks from the past resurfaced--and that included living and escaping an abusive home.  With the challenge of modernizing their bookstore before it's sold to a new owner, they talk about the past, on what really happened on that awful night, and harbored secrets were out in the open. And in the end, grab a box of tissues when this couple had found each other with an emotional roller coaster ending.

This was a fantastic and emotional heart-wrenching contemporary romance about second chances in love and second chances to follow your heart. I instantly cared for Kincaid on how she survived living with her mother and how she dealt with a hardship with the high school massacre and dealing with so much heartache with everything with Ash. I also liked how Ash changed his life around and took the plunge to tell Kincaid on how he'd really felt about her, no matter how hard it was for him. I liked the Lone Acre small-town Texas location with great scenic settings from the farmhouse to the bookstore and beyond. It made it feel so surreal. This would make you want to bawl your eyes out with non-stop action, plenty of profound drama, lots of romance, and a spark of intrigue.

What Rose Forgot

In Nevada Barr's What Rose Forgot, this startling thriller focuses on dementia and a dangerous type of elder care. When Rose Dennis wakes up in a hospital, her mind's foggy in a haze, and didn't know where she was. She learns she's been put into Longwood Institute's Memory Care Unit for demented patients. When she comes to, she learns about Longwood, plans to escape, and hides out with her granddaughter Melanie. After her escape was leaked onto the news, someone's set out to kill Rose. And it's up to Rose and Mel to find out what's really going on and who wanted her dead. With her close family members suspicious, (except for Mel), she plans to find out what she knows about Longwood and a long line of elder abuse-type deaths to make extra money. As Rose sleuths around for clues, she learned more about Longwood and tormented Nurse Karen to retrieve answers and to rescue a friend from the same unit. As soon as she makes a break from it, Rose later learns who wanted her to die and why in a life-and-death situation she needs to fight to the finish in the end.

This was a great thriller from Nevada Barr that focused on a topic that's still ongoing on the news today. I did care for Rose and after she'd been through--the loss of her husband, how someone was cruel enough to do her in and sent her to an elder care home for demented patients. She's smart, caring, and a wonderful person who unearthed a scandal before her eyes. I've thought Mel was a hoot for a precocious pre-teen who's smart like a whip too. I loved the locations surrounding Longwood and even her home in Virginia with the scenic settings to encapsulate the storyline. This would make you want to hold your breath and hang on tight for a bumpy ride with non-stop suspense, plenty of action, sparks of mystery, and lots of drama all around.

Unspoken

In Kelly Rimmer's Unspoken, the 2nd installment in the Start Up in the City contemporary romance series, this moving love story will pull your heart strings real taut and make you cry. For Isabel Winton, she wanted to escape into her vacation home before her marriage to Paul ended in a divorce. She's the one who walked away from the marriage and asked for a divorce when Paul also chose work over her. For Paul, this vacation home belonged to his family and didn't expect to see Isabel there. Instead of kicking her out, told from their views, they talked things over about what went wrong in their marriage before they could say goodbye. They revisit memories on how they met and when they married and when things soured like spilled milk. They've gotten to know each other better and worked things out with a better understanding. Right before Isabel could say goodbye to him, it's up to Paul to put his heart on his line and give her what she wants if they want a second chance to stay together... forever.

This was a real beautiful romance about Isabel and Paul Winton's second-chance love story. I cared for both of them as individuals and as a couple. I really loved how diverse Paul was with his diagnosis of Autism. We do need to see more of them in print these days. I really love how Isabel cared for Paul and understood his flaws. I'm grateful that they could talk things over and come to a better understanding of knowing each other's needs. I loved how they decided to make things work in the end. The NYC scenic settings were picture perfect for the location throughout the story including the vacation home with the lake. This would make you want to grab a box of tissues, your heart sigh, and for you to root them on with non-stop action, hints of suspense, plenty of romance, and sparks of drama.

Crewel World

In Monica Ferris's Crewel World, the first installment in the Needlecraft Mystery cozy series, this debut will entice you to pick up a needle and knit a stitch or two. When Betsy Devonshire visited her sister Margot Berglund in Excelsior, Minnesota, she learned that everybody knows everybody in a small town. But when she discovered her sister had been murdered in her own shop, Crewel World, a needlecraft store, it's up to Betsy to discover who killed her sister and why. Meanwhile, she snooped around as the new store's beneficiary owner and asked her sister's closest friends who would've such a cruel thing. From the landlord who wanted her to vacate the store, a store employee who wants the store for herself, or from someone else in her inner circle, she asked all the right questions until she came closer to the truth. While she picked up a stitch or two to learn needlecraft, she'd found out for herself that living in a small town has its advantages and disadvantages. With some help from her closest friends, they helped her solve the mystery behind Margot's death and how to run a successful store with a twist at the end.

This was a compelling new cozy mystery to read and pick up needlecraft at the same time. I did care for Betsy and Margot, when I felt sorry that Margot's life had came to a ghastly end. And that Betsy had to deal with everything on hand with her estate and her belongings. I've found her a bit satisfied to stay in Excelsior and enjoy living in a small town by running the shop. I loved how Margot's friends became Betsy's friends. I've also found Jill and Shelley a handful and good support for Betsy. I loved the scenic locations for Excelsior that painted a great picture for this small town in Minnesota for the mesmerizing settings. This cozy would keep you hooked with compelling drama, insightful suspense, a hint of mystery, and a spark of crafty non-stop action.

Hush Hush

In Laura Lippman's Hush Hush, the 12th installment in the Tess Monaghan mystery series, this caper is so dark and creepy and could be straight from the news headlines. When Tess is hired to work the Melisandre Harris Dawes' defense, she never experienced working anyone like her before. Once acquitted for killing her youngest daughter Isadora by pleading guilty by insanity, she fled the country after she was acquitted from all charges. But when Harmony Barnes was in charge of shooting a documentary on her story, things change. Now after ten years away from them, the spotlight is back on her and her family when the documentary told the story and shone it in another light. Her ex is newly remarried with a young baby son and accidents do happen, including one that left her trainer startled and her husband dead. Now it's up to Tess unravel the real story on what happened and if Melisandre is behind it or someone else.  While Tess is dealing with this complex case, she's busy being a mother to Carla and waited to tie the knot with her lover Crow. In the end, Tess picked the pieces to solve this mystery to set things right for everyone involved before it's too late.

This was another great installment that features Tess Monaghan. I did care for her as a private investigator, a mother and later as a wife. I've found her relatable in so many levels and wondered how she would solve this puzzle. I've found Carla Scout cute and the other cast of characters charming. I did feel a bit neutral toward Melisandre. I did love the Baltimore backdrop for the scenic locations and picturesque settings that painted the background real well. This would make you shocked and awed at the same time with non-stop drama, plenty of actions, suspense, and hints of mystery on every page.

Let It Snow

In Nancy Thayer's Let It Snow, this charming Christmas woman's fiction is perfect to uplift your spirits during the wintry cold holiday season. For Christina Antonioni, she's a small shop owner who lives and works at the Nantucket Wharf, preparing for tourists to buy presents or souvenirs every season. She, and three other shop owners who are her friends, called the Shedders, strive to make sales everyday. But when she meets a little girl named Winifred "Wink" Lombard who stole something in her shop without paying for it. She became enchanted with Wink and reprimanded her for it, when her Uncle Andy and her mother Delia Bittlesman Lombard came in. Wink's parents are caught up in a nasty divorce battle, and Andy's on the island for business. But there's an instant chemistry between them. But there's one little problem: his father, Oscar Bittlesman, is their landlord, and reminiscent of Charles Dickens's Scrooge in the Christmas Carol. When he decided to raise the rent, it raised a lot of eyebrows. For Christina, she might have to put her growing relationship with Andy on hold, while she feared she might go out of business at the start of the year. Between Christina and her fellow Shedder friends, they needed to come up with a plan to get him to change his mind. They put their heads together to put on the Christmas spirit by singing Christmas carols. With a touch of Christmas magic, Christina had gotten her wish and a happily ever after she always dreamed of too.

This was a wonderful and beautiful woman's fiction set during the Christmas season. I cared for Christina and how she managed to warm everyone's hearts and stayed afloat with her business. I adored Wink and thought Andy was a pretty charming man himself. I loved the Nantucket island for the enchanted location and the seasonal scenic settings for this sweet story. This would put you into the holiday spirit and fill your heart with good will and tidings with some drama, a spark of romance, some drama, and a hint of humor to keep you warm after you finished this wonderful book.

In Charish Reid's The Write Escape, this contemporary romance is so wonderfully written and moving and would take you on an amazing journey. For Antonia Harper, she's planning her wedding, working on a historical romance novel, and stuck in her editing job at a small literary press in Chicago. With a shake-up at work, she discovered her fiance Derek Rogers has been cheating on her. She breaks up the wedding and went on an escape to Ireland where she would've spent her honeymoon. During her stay at Tully Cross, she runs into Professor Aidan Byrnes, a hot Irish white male, at Supervalu, and also her next-door neighbor in the small village, who became her friend and didn't mind she was an African-American woman. Besides his sexy Irish brogue, he had lost his inspiration for his conference paper to get tenure at the college. But they had some hiccups along the way if they want to be together in the end. But they followed their hearts and thier dreams to find their own HEA in a blissful way.

This was a sweet and a fantastic contemporary romance that features diverse characters and a charming cast. I cared for Antonia completely when she needed to escape from Chicago and to break a break from it all. I also found Aidan a real charmer and a sexy piece of eye-candy who had met his match in Toni. I care for them both who rescued each other and loved each other despite the odds, no matter what life throws along the way. I loved the Irish locations and the scenic settings up and around the town that made it feel idyllic and charming to stay in the village. This would make you want to find your own retreat with some humorous bits, a lot of loving, some sweet Irish drama and action throughout the novel.

In Elizabeth Adler's Sailing to Capri, this mystery is set on land and also on the ocean to take you on a majestic journey across the Mediterranean Sea. It all started for Daisy Keane, a divorced American who worked for English Tycoon, Robert Hardwick. This was a fantastic mystery for every enthusiastic mystery-loving reader would sink their teeth into in the first page. I've cared for Daisy and how her louse of her husband had treated her before they divorced. She was a real likeable person to root for. Bordelaise was a hoot to have as her best friend. And Harry was a charming guy, who became somewhat of a perfect match for Daisy when they worked well together. I loved the English countryside settings and the gripping Mediterranean scenic locations on and off the cruise including Capri island. This mystery has plenty of drama, non-stop action, suspense, and sparks of romance--something for everyone.

Cold Case Secrets

In Maggie K Black's Cold Case Secrets, the 4th installment in the True North Heroes romantic suspense series, this novel would have you hooked on the first page. For RCMP Detective Jacob Henry, all he wanted to do is to find the truth about his sister's murder, a cold case that remained unsolved for over a decade. For the Ontario regiment, he's on the manhunt for three ruthless convicts who escaped from prison until he ran into Grace Finch, a hostage who needed his help. From the instant they met, there was something about her and what she was hiding from him. On the search to find his late sister's Faith's locket in the cabin, he followed Grace, an investigative reporter, straight there. But it left him with more questions than answers. more than never. For Grace, she had feelings for Jacob and had been rebuffed from him when she wanted to ask him out for coffee. But she kept a secret from him: Hal Turner is her biological father who escaped from prison and wanted to speak to her. Together, they learned to trust one each other and to find out the truth which led them onto a path of danger and a trail of corruption to someone closest to Jacob with a shocking ending on whodunit and why.

This was a great heart-pounding romantic suspense that took you front and center in the middle of the action. I cared for Jacob who wanted answers on why his sister Faith was killed. He wouldn't get peace until he found out for it. I also cared for Grace, who harbored such an unearthing secret that might've killed their friendship and something else. But I'm glad they've put their faith in God and rescued each other to find each other. They both put their hearts and their lives on the line. I loved the intense scenic settings and memorable locations throughout Ontario's woods and outside of it. The Wolf Wants In

In Laura McHugh's the Wolf Wants In, this scintillating thriller will send you guessing and leave you at the edge of the seat. It all started for Sadie Keller, a single mother, who's looking for answers on what happened to her brother Shane and how he died. Her sister-in-law Krystle might be hiding something when she investigated the truth of the matter. In Blackwater, Kansas, news had broken out about Macey Calhoun's little body had been found out. A lot of suspicion went down on who could've done it in that small town. As for Henley Pettitt, her sister-in-law's cousin, she knows what happened to Shane and works as a housekeeper for Earl Sullivan. Though she might've fallen head over heels with his son Jason, who had a ton of emotional baggage to claim, she wanted to get out of those small opioid-ravaged town fast. Between the two of them, they would find justice, peace of mind, and piece together what happened to Shane Keller and set things right to move on with their lives.

This is a gripping thriller that deals with real life events on how the opioid crisis had taken over small towns and innocent young lives. You hear it on the news everyday. I did care for Sadie on how she would do anything to learn the truth about her brother's death. I also felt sad for poor Gravy who mourned Shane's loss and had no will to eat. That really pulled at my heartstrings. I also cared for Henley who's mother had her own issues and ended up in jail. But she would do anything to get out of town and find some peace of mind to set her free for a new life. I did love the Shade Tree/Blackwater small town scenes in rural Kansas and how picturesque the settings were for those ideal locations. The ending would leave you speechless on how it came together like a jigsaw puzzle with non-stop action, plenty of intrigue, hints of mystery and a spark of drama.

Will you be there with Sadie in the Wolf Wants In today?

A Pitying of Doves

In Steve Burrows's A Pitying of Doves, the 2nd installment in the Birder Murder Mystery series, this interesting caper title would keep you at the seat and make you want to find out more. It all started out for Chief Inspector Domenic JeJeune of the Norfolk Regiment of the RCMP when they received a call about a double murder in a bird sanctuary for doves. For Domenic, who's a fellow birder as a hobby, they came to investigate the scene of the crime in Norfolk. They looked for clues in the sanctuary and the identities of the bodies to one Mexican consulate and the fellow college student at a local university. If one murder wasn't enough, they had two on their lands when it led them to find more about the super-species of doves and the owner of them. Piece by piece, Inspector JeJeune would find out why and how they've gotten there and who wanted to kill them, while he tried not to let his birding hobby get the best of him to look for clues. The closer they get to the truth, the more it unravels before him and his team when they get closer to danger with every new lead along the way., including one of their own suspects being murdered. He would do everything in his power to stop at nothing before his putting his career--and his life--on the line to have it done.

This was an interesting mystery series. You learn something new about birding as a hobby for birdwatching and about the specific bird in general for the series. Doves are one of my favorite birds, whether they're white or grey. This made me care about the doves too. I like Chief Inspector JeJeune and how he and his squad went out to solve a most complex mystery to tie things up in a big bow. We can see how he cared for Lindy, his girlfriend, and his love for birds. I also love the Canadian locations and the scenic settings including the bird sanctuary for this novel. This would make you want to care for birds and follow his footsteps with non-stop drama, plenty of drama, lots of action, and scoops of suspense from start to finish.

One Dark Wish

In Sharon Wray's One Dark Wish, the 2nd installment in the Deadly Force romantic suspense series, this novel is gripping and powerful from the first page. It all started for historian Sarah Munroe when she's looking for clues and ancient artifacts in a Puritan love story that's more than three centuries old. When she's been shot at, she ran across Nate Walker, a former veteran who's dealing with seizures and had been dishonorably discharged for a massacre in Afghanistan. When Nate spotted Sarah at the Isle of Grace cemetery in Savannah, she became intrigued on his presence there. And there was a chemistry between them. Two weeks later, they meet at the same place and at the wrong time, when he warmed her not to search for clues in the cemetery. There's a war between the Fianna warriors and the Prince's men that's darn-right deadly. But Sarah was more than hell-bent to look for clues and work on that grant proposal to fund the money for her research... it's something she held close to her heart since her late mother had been fascinated with that Puritan love story and its secret cipher code. While dealing with threats for her father's health and the war outside, Sarah and Nate work together to discover the mystery while they deal with threats and other obstacles including from Nate's own XO who had them followed. The closer they get to the truth, the more they unearth the mystery that might be linked to Sarah's birth father. But the sparks would be flying between them to set the night on fire, though there was a ticking timeline before Nate's sent back to a prison hospital in Maine. Even with time's not on their side, they would put their lives on the line to set thing right and happy a sweet ending that would last a lifetime.

This was a fantastic romantic suspense that would keep you at the edge of your seat. I did care for Sarah and how she dealt with her father's declining health and how she'd gotten into a lethal mess. I loved that she wanted to started what her mother finished and to pick up the pieces to solve this centuries-old puzzle. I also love Nate, who was a bit diverse, since he's dyslexic, and had haunted issues of his own between his family and military life. I liked how they worked together to defy the odds and watch the spark fly between them to find their perfect match. The scenic locations in Savannah were fantastic and spectacular for the settings from the isle and around the town to make it idealistic and perfect. This has a lot of action-packed suspense, lots of sparking romance, plenty of non-stop drama and tons of hinted mysteries to keep you wanting more in the end.

Would you be there to discover the history behind the mystery in One Dark Wish today?

Absolute Power

In David Baldacci's Absolute Power, this political thriller is so intense, it cuts straight through with a knife. It all started when the President, Alan Richmond, got over his head with an affair with a younger woman who got rough with him. He ordered two of his Secret Service Men to take out the hit, while an old-time cat burglar watched everything unfold behind the scenes. Though they covered up all the tracks to make it like a burglary, they kept everything on the down low from the police. They put up the facade and put on a good show. Caught in the middle is Jack Graham, a lawyer from a prestigious law firm, engaged to Jen Baldwin, when he wanted to move on the up and up. When his ex-fiancée's father, Luther Whitney comes to him for help, saying he fears for his life, he turns to his ex, Kate, and lets her know. Besides old history, they had feelings for each other. When he reveals what Luther came to him and said, she becomes dubious. Meanwhile President Richmond played his card close to his chest on the investigation, acting like a good friend to Walter Sullivan, and pretending everything's all right. And when the DC PD discover Luther's connection, they believe they've gotten the guy when it turns all out wrong with a massive hit on his head and a major fallout. He would do everything to save face and not let the world know, even if it might cost him everything by destroying evidence and going after Jack next. In the end, there's a mind-blowing twist in the end for Jack and Richmond for a big clincher.

This was an excellent and mind-boggling, mind-numbing political thriller. On every turned page, I was hooked from start to finish to sink my teeth into a compelling and fascinating plot line. I cared for Jack on how he had gotten stuck into this situation in the first place. He might not have feelings for Jen, when he didn't want a loveless marriage, not from what she'd done to his friend at the firm. I did care for Kate, who were estranged from her father, and blamed him from what he'd done to her and her mother. But she felt she had to do the right thing in the end. I believe they might reconnect at some point. From the White House and all around the D.C. area, the scenic settings were strong and powerful with poignant in those various locations. This would make you want to buckle your seat belt and to hold on tight for a wild ride with non-stop action, plenty of political drama, lots of intense suspense with hints of mystery on every page.

Cookies and Clairvoyance

In Bailey Cates's Cookies and Clairvoyance, the 8th installment in the Magical Bakery culinary cozy mystery series, this enticing caper would make you seek your teeth into this chilling novel. For Katie Lightfoot, she's not your ordinary baker. She's half-witch and half-Native American and have been endowed by two magical forces as her gift as a lightwitch. And when Kensington Bosworth stopped by her bakery, she paid a closer look on him. Later on, word had it that Randy Post, a local fireman had been arrested for his murder. And it's up to her and her coven of lightwitches to find out who's the real murder. While she's planning her wedding to Declan, a fireman who had a leprechaunic gift of his own, and building her dream home, she became the police's consultant on everything paranormal and magical in Bosworth's murder. She interviewed everyone who became close to him and everything that might be important to him to help her solve the case. But when she tried a spell to pinpoint the murder, someone threw a monkeywrench at her with an anti-magic spell of their own. She would do everything in her power to get her magic back and solve the mystery at the same time.

This was a great culinary mystery that has a hint of magic in it. I did care for Katie and how she dealt with wedding planning and working at the bakery while learning her craft. I did love how she was a bit diverse by being half-witch and half-Native American with a dollop of magical gifts. I've thought Declan was a hot piece of Irish eyecandy. I loved the location and the mesmerizing scenic settings in Savannah for the backdrop. This would make you intrigued and spellbound with non-stop action, plenty of spicy suspense, a scoop of drama, and lots of mystery on every page.

The Escape Room

In Megan Goldin's The Escape Room, this chilling thriller will leave you hooked and at the edge of the seat. It all started when Sara Hall landed a job with Stanhope and Sons, an investment banking firm, a dream job straight out from college in NYC. As the new girl, people treated her differently until she fast-learned the ropes in no time. Between her rise on the ladder of success, she had to deal with her parents' health issues and a new potential love interest. Things were up and up for her. For Vincent, Sylvie, Jules and Sam, they were stuck in an elevator for an escape-room team building for the firm.  Pretty soon, they're trapped and feeling the heat, when new clues shook things up when secrets and lies come out into the open and turn each other. For the past five years, everything was fine for Sara, when one of their co-workers Lucy died from a "suicide" and later her mother died in a "hit-and-run." It was up to Sara to put the pieces together and discovered what Lucy left behind for her to find in hidden clues. When she told this to her boss, Vincent, he denied everything. Things took a drastic turn for her when her co-workers didn't give her the time of day and harsh deadlines, and ruining things for her. And later, it landed her being fired, losing everything including her mother's death. But revenge is better served cold when Sara concocted the perfect plan behind the schemes to leave them in the cold, looking for answers, until she would have the better revenge after all in a shocking ending.

This thriller is the perfect one that emulates revenge in the best way. I did care for Sara and how she sought revenge for herself and for Lucy Marshall, a fellow coworker, and even for Lucy's mother too. I loved how she dealt with such hardships and a ton of drama, even when she "faked" her own death to get even in the best possible way. I thought Vincent and company had gotten what they had deserved in the end. I loved the various locations set in NYC and Chicago and even in the Caribbean in the end and the lovely settings for every scene. This would have you rooting for Sara all the way with non-stop drama, action, suspense, and plenty of intrigue to keep you fascinated to the end.

Will you be there to see how it unfolds in the Escape Room today?

A Nice Cup of Tea

In Celia Imrie's A Nice Cup of Tea, the third installment in the Nice cozy mystery series, this newest installment would send you traveling to France and some parts of London England. It all started with five retired ex-pat friends who chipped in and brought a divine French restaurant in Bellevue-sur-Mer. But they're having trouble making ends meet with not enough customers to keep their business afloat on the French Riviera waters. Sooner or later, they would have to deal with closing shop and taking the next offer from someone to take it off their hands. For Theresa, she has to deal with a stalker who's obsessed with her, while her granddaughter Chloe is missing and presumed to have runaway with her high school boyfriend. For Sally, she came across two old friends from her acting days and then landed a plum job to star in a movie in Monte Carlo.  While all of this is going on, they needed more customers to save their business. But when troublesome danger lurks ahead, they would deal with a difficult situation in a life-and-death matter in the end.

This was a nice installment in the cozy mystery that's set in rustic France and in part of London. I did care for Sally, Theresa and their three other friends, and how they would manage to try to keep their business alive. I did feel sorry for Sally who had to deal with her daughter and her acting career, while Theresa dealt with a stalker and helping her daughter find her granddaughter Chloe. They were some good humorous tidbits of humor interwoven to keep you in suspense with non-stop drama, action,  suspense, and intrigue. I did feel that the recipes aren't needed, since this isn't a culinary cozy that featured the French food in the story. And the post-script isn't really needed either.

Will you stop by for a nice cup of tea and enjoy this story?

Rogue Most Wanted

In Janna MacGregor's Rogue Most Wanted, the 5th installment in the Cavensham Heiresses Historical Romance series, this wonderful love story would sweep you off your feet like an enchanted fairy tale. For Theodora "Thea" Worth, she's been known as Lady Eanruig from Ladykyrk Manor in Northumberland ever since her grandfather died. But seven years after his death, she kept to herself and managed the mansion until Lord Ferr-Coby challenged her title as the true heir for the estate. And she would need to prove her claim or marry someone in front of the House of Privileges. For Lord William Cavensham, he's been broken-hearted for a decade when he proposed to his third cousin Avalon and was jilted from her. Ever since then, he'd been unlucky in love and paid more attention to do manorial work for his family. But when his Aunt Stella proposed that he should marry to benefit them both, he said no. But later, he came her friend and true confident when they revealed their heartful woes to one another. Slowly but surely, he and his family helped her prepare to enter society and for the committee meeting, even by setting her up with three friends to better suit her and her needs. But he became smitten with her and fell head over heels with her, claiming hers as her own. But she's looking to marry for love and not for convenience, even when she put up a fake proposal to show the London ton she's ready to do battle for her title. At the committee meeting, she failed short and lost the match, when she has no choice but to return home and accept Ferr-Coby's next marriage proposal. Even though it had broken his heart, she would do anything to salvage the pieces and look for the second charter. If and when she finds it, she would reclaim what's hers and find her true fairytale ending she had ever dreamed of and hoped for.

This was an excellent and beautiful well-written historical romance novel that it brought tears to my ends in the end. I cared for Thea and how she had felt unloved from her grandfather and took care of his estate after his death. I loved how she followed her heart and became Will's friend to trust and rely on him for his needs. I also adored Will and his family on how they became there for her and enveloped her to join their fold. I loved how he was there for her and how to managed to find a true match with Thea. I loved the London settings and the mesmerizing locations around England with vivid scenes in great details.  This would make your heart sway and swoon with non-stop suspense, action, drama, and plenty of tear-jerking romance on every page.

Will you be swept away and read Rogue Most Wanted today?

The Truth Behind the Lie

In Sara Lövestam's The Truth Behind the Lie, this gripping thriller will have you at the edge of your seat. It all started when Kouplan, an Iranian refuge living and hiding in Sweden, answered a strange ad who needed assistance from a PI. That's when he met Pernilla, a mother who said her six-year-old daughter Julia is missing, who doesn't want the Swedish police's help. From there, Kouplan asked her questions about the date of Julia's abduction and some background history in her life and Julia's. From there, Kouplan looks for clues all over Sweden to see if he could find her before it's too late. Since he's been living off the grid, he uses all his resources to help find Julia and if she was abducted by a child smuggling ring or not. Inside-out, he covers all his bases and tracks down anybody who might know about Pernilla and Julia's life including a priest named Thor. As he digs deeper into Pernilla's world and Julia's birth, something doesn't make sense to her. Was it a figment of her imagination or was she telling the truth? Kouplan has to find the answer before it might be too late to save either one of them in the end.

This was an intriguing thriller that's set in Sweden. The locations were so visual and mesmerizing with the scenic settings in every place and town. I did care about Kouplan on how he would solve this mystery and by staying under the radar. He would do anything to survive and to make ends meet. I loved it how his character is diverse and how he's a refuge in another country. I also cared about Pernilla and how her story spiraled out of control when Kouplan needed to divide fact from fiction, truth from the lies.  This would have you hooked on every page with non-stop drama, plenty of fiction, lots of suspense, and bits of mystery interwoven into the story line.

Will you be there to help Kouplan solve this case in The Truth Behind the Lie today?

Fool's Puzzle

In Earlene Fowler's Fool's Puzzle, the first installment in the Benni Harper cozy mystery series, this debut would keep you in suspense and care for the characters. Albenia "Benni" Harper is a widow and missing the love of her life. When she works at a museum for the craft show, she discovers the dead body of one of her closest friends. It had left her rattled and shaken to see her friend Marla died. While she did some snooping around, she ran into the new sheriff in town, Gabriel Ortiz, who gave Benni a hard time. While she couldn't think of anyone who would harm Marla, she had to deal with her cousin Rita and track her down to locate her for her aunt. Though she goes toe to toe with Ortiz, she ran into some interesting information that might have to do with her husband's death and her former in-law's ranching business. As she learned new information, she discovered a second dead body, someone else who worked for the museum. While Benni looks to connect the dots between the two murders, she gets closer to the truth on what's been going on behind the scenes and who was responsible for her husband's death. Behind the secrets and lies, she comes face to face with the culprit to find out why and deals things her way in an intense climax.

This was a great debut to the Benni Harper cozy mystery series. I did like Benni's name, which I found unusual and interesting. I did care for her and on how she dealt with so much going on from family life to what happened to work. I thought she was something else and someone we can root for. I've found Ortiz a pretty interesting character and a possible new love interest for Benni after they kissed toward the end. I did love the rural locations and crisp scenic settings in the Arkansas area for the series. This has plenty of action, a hint of suspense, lots of drama, and great sparks of mystery from start to finish.

Will you be there on Benni's side in Fool's Puzzle today?

Goodnight Irene

In Jan Burke's Goodnight, Irene, the first installment in the Irene Kelly mystery series, this debut will grip you from the first page. It all started when Irene's friend O'Connor was killed in a car bombing, when he was about to tell her something important. After his death, it was up to Irene to pick up the pieces and return to her former newspaper as a journalist. When her brother-in-law ended up in a car accident, things had gotten too close to personal. While Irene look for his cryptic notes about a 1955 Jane Doe case with only the skull, she picked up the pieces and searched for clues in microfilm and microfiche. She comes to rely on her good friend, Frank Harriman, from the Las Piernas PD, who ended up injured from helping her on the case. For Irene, she goes to Phoenix to find some clues there on the missing person and talk to the victim's family. The closer she gets to the truth on whodunit and why, the more endangered she would be in the end to solve this puzzle things aren't what they seem to be in the end for a shocking climax.

This was a gripping and interesting debut that would hook you on the first page and reel you in. I really cared for Irene who had been going through a lot of stuff at the same time. But for her to step in O'Connor's shoes to pick up where he left off before his untimely demise, she was more than onto something when she identified the missing person with little clues. I also had found Lydia a hoot and a remarkable good friend for Irene too. Frank is so easy on the eyes.  I also loved the dual locations of Phoenix and Las Piernas for this gripping debut and how the imagery popped on the screen for the scenic settings. This would make you want to keep reading with non-stop drama, plenty of suspense, intrigue, and lots of clues for a great mystery on every page.

A Stranger on the Beach

In Michele Campbell's latest novel, A Stranger on the Beach, this thriller will grip you and take you on a wild ride. It all started when Caroline Stark spotted Aidan Callahan on the beach near her beach house, and when her husband Jason came into the housewarming party with his Russian girlfriend. But things aren't what they seemed when she accused him of cheating on her and he asked her to get a divorce for some strange reason. Shocked and dismayed, she goes to the Red Anchor Bar and seeks Aidan out as the bartender. After a couple of drinks, she teases him when he's fallen hard for her and began a temptous affair. He couldn't get her out of her mind and is smitten with her. He spent prison for involuntary manslaughter and tends the bar in his spare time. His brother is the chief of police. But he wants the beach house on his grandfather's land. But after a one-night stand, she cuts things off with him and whispers to him that he wants Jason dead.  Although he turned it down, things had gotten too far between them and their affairs. He follows her husband and her daughter and reports back to her on what he saw and heard. Before the hurricane, things got dicey and heated when there was a break-in at the house and her husband winds up dead. But after the storms, Aidan's charged with the crime and Caroline goes into hiding. But in the end, things don't add up with a shocking twisted ending you would never believe.

This was a spine-tingling and suspenseful thriller that would leave you at the edge of your seat.  I did care for Caroline in the beginning, but I didn't in the end. She had gotten what she had coming for her. I did feel bad for Aidan who was sucker-punched into this mess when he had fallen for her. I did feel bad for Hannah who was caught in the mess of this dilemma too. I did like New York as the locations and in and around the beach for the gripping scenic settings, even before and after the hurricane. This would keep you in suspense on every single turned page from start to finish and leave you at the edge of your seat with non-stop drama, plenty of mind-blowing action, tons of intrigue, and plenty of suspense to keep you hooked right to the end.

Murder on Park Lane

In Karen Charlton's Murder in Park Lane, the 3rd installment in the Detective Lavender Historical Mystery series, this novel would take you back to time with a twisted ride. It's London 1812. It all started when Detective Stephen Lavender and Constable Ned Woods from the Park Row Police Department received a call about a murder from Dr. Richard Allison, the Medical Examiner. They came to the scene of the crime to discover the body of David MacAdam. As they started the investigation, they learned more about the corpse that had more twists and turns with every clue. It ranged from adultery to being a lothario and a swindler to say the least. Meanwhile Lavender expected his first child with his Spanish wife Magdalena, while Ned dealt with fasting to trim his waist. Together, they come across some unsavory people who might want MacAdam dead for more than one reason. The closer they get to the truth, the more twisted it could be with one step from another until they found the culprit and put him and her behind bars.

This is a gripping and intriguing historical mystery that's set in 1812 London. I did care for Lavender and Woods on how they worked together and dealt with nefarious obstacles along the way. They worked well as a team and managed to care for their own families outside of the job. The locations around historic London in that period was very spot on and precise with every single detail on how they handled crime scenes back in the day. This has plenty of non-stop action, lots of intrigue, historical drama, and intense hints of mystery on every page.

Will you be there to witness the crime in Murder in Park Lane today?

Trashed

In Mia Hopkins's Trashed, the 2nd installment in the Eastside Brewery Contemporary Romance novel series, this will make you believe in second chances. Meet Eddie "Trouble" Rosas. Six months ago, he's been released from prison and out on parole. He served his five-year stint for gang-related crimes and is ready to start fresh. But it isn't easy for Eddie, ever since she stepped outside of the prison doors and looked for work. Five years ago, he met a woman in the garden and made love to her. Ever since he had gotten out, he's been looking for her until he landed a plum dishwasher job at her restaurant. That's when he met Chef Carmen Centeno, and had gotten to know her name for the first time. Besides the sparks growing between them, it had cost them their jobs and back on the street to look for work. But when the Eastside Hollenbeck gang learns of his release, they make trouble for him and want him back in. Ever since his brother Sal gotten out of the gang, he wants the same thing for him too. But first, he needs to find their no-good father and get answers for him, then he would make a promise he intended to keep to go straight and be with Carmen, even though her parents like it or not.  Though when trouble strikes at his brother's home, he needed to cut his losses and never look back to step forward and stay clean from the gangster life for good.

This contemporary romance was fantastic and told from Eddie's POV only on how the life outside of prison was for him and for his family. I did care for him and how he would deal with so many issues right in front of him between the gangs and his brother's business and looking for his father, Dreamer.  He had so much emotional baggage that he kept and carried for so long. I also cared for Carmen on how she wanted to be with Eddie and how she wanted to be her own person too. You can see how much they care for each other when the sparks flew between them. I did love the California and Washington state dual locations for the mesmerizing scenic settings for this contemporary romance. This would make you want to root for Eddie and Carmen with red-hot steamy romance, plenty of non-stop action and lots of drama, and sparks of intrigue on every page.

Will you be there to check out Eddie's story today in Trashed?

How to Cross A Marquess

In Jane Ashford's How to Cross a Marquess, the third installment in the Way to a Lord's Heart historical romance series, this romance will sweep you off your feet. For Roger Berwick, the Marquess of Chatton Cottage, he had known Fenella Fairclough, his neighbor for years. They once had gotten close of getting married. But he married Arabella Crenshaw, a mismatch in heaven, when it was a marriage doomed from the start. She had gotten sick on a horse ride and later died. Roger didn't mend his broken heart since things didn't work out for them. But now, five years later, they met once again  and sorted things out about how Arabella died and the suspicions behind her death. But Fenella had to deal with her ill father, who never really appreciated her like he had with her two older sisters. She took care of him until the day he died. And when they he died, Roger and Fenella decide to tie the knot and elope when they had some obstacles along the way before they could profess their undying love for each other and for the future.

This was a fascinating historical romance for Roger and Fenella. I did care for Roger who had been some hard blows in his life except for having Arabella as a cold wife. I did care for Fenella who wanted to be loved and treated fairly by her father. But I'm glad she got to follow her heart and marry Roger. I did love the vast scenic settings and the mesmerizing locations around the London area. This would make you want to keep reading with non-stop action, suspense, drama, and plenty of heartfelt romance on every page.

Pipe Dreams

In Sarina Bowen's Pipe Dreams, the third installment in the Brooklyn Bruises hockey sports romance series, you'll have a front row seat in the action of romance of this fantastic love story. For Lauren Williams, she had sworn off hockey ever since Brooklyn Bruisers goalie Mike Beacon broke her heart two years ago. Now she works for the office of the manager, earning her college degree without her parent's help, and planning to have a child of her own alone. But when she runs into Mike again, it conjures up bad memories of the past. For Mike Beacon, a widower and single father of a preteen daughter, life off the ice had hit some snags. But when he plays hockey as the goalie, things are golden. And when they met in the pre-season, Mike haven't stopped loving her and wants a second chance with Lauren. He would do everything to win her heart and to set things right, even if he throws a curveball in her plans to have a baby by a sperm donor. But when they make love, they set the night on fire. Things do get complicated when Elsa, his daughter, has issues with Lauren, when she blames her for breaking up their marriage. Later, when Lauren discovers she's pregnant with Mike's baby, it changes everything as he wants to score big with the two women he loves and cares the most on and off the hockey rink with a happy ending.

This was a fantastic addition to the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey sports romance series. I did like the sports action of a hockey game and the romance that takes place off the ice. It had put you right in the front seat to see the comings and going of an actual hockey game. I did care for Lauren and how she had gotten over a broken heart and how she was her own woman to go for her own dreams. I also found Mike nice and caring who wants to do right for her daughter if not for himself. I'm glad that Elsa turned the other check in hindsight and came around to accept Lauren into her life. I loved the Florida and New York dual locations for the novel and how it felt realistic for the scenic settings during the play-offs and World Cup series. This would make you cheer and stomp your feet with sparking romance, plenty of non-stop action, drama, and lots of suspense to keep you hook and on your feet.

Will you score a goal in Pipe Dreams tonight?

Date Me Baby One More Time

In Stephanie Rowe's Date Me Baby, One More Time, the first time in the Immortally Sexy paranormal romance series, this debut will make you laugh out loud, snort and shake your head. For Justine Bennett, she's the chosen Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Life and other magical things in the mortal world. Her mother lives in Purgatory and her best friend  and room mate Theresa is a living breathing dragon.  Plus, she's been cursed for over 200 years as an immortal soul without having any saex. But when Derek LaValle comes knocking on her door and wants to kill her, he had fallen head over heels in love with her, except he's a cursed mortal. When they team up together, they light up the nights and discover who or what was behind the curse. Lo and behold, Justine had unearthed a shocking family secret her mother had kept hidden from her all her life, which had changed everything for her. And when they work together to stop the person who's behind the curse, they would do anything to be together and stop the culprit in his fiery red-hot tracks no matter what it would take.

This was an interesting and intriguing take of the paranormal romance world with dragons, Satan in Hell, and of yes, immortality. There were bits of humorous dialogue and prose that made me crack up and have a good giggle. I did like the Eternal Hell in the mortal and eternal world in the Afterlife and of NYC for the gripping scenic settings and the dual locations. I did find Theresa the dragon a hoot and Justine a bit charming for an immortal woman to fall for Derek who was formerly a mortal before he died. This would make you want to read it in one setting or two for a good laugh with non-stop drama, passionate love above and beyond, sparks of intrigue and plenty of laughs.

Will you take a wild ride to the Afterlife and Earth in Date Me Baby One More Time tonight?

In Bella Ellis's The Vanished Bride, the first installment in the Bronte Sisters Mysteries historical mystery series, get transported back in time to 1875, Yorkshire England before the Bronte sisters became famous for their classic literary works. When an old friend of Charlotte Bronte knocks on the door of her father's parsonage, she requests the help of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte to help her locate Elizabeth Chester. As the governess of the Chester Cottage, there's been no trace of the young bride around in the estate. Told in their POVs in alternating chapters, they discover what's really going on in Chester Cottage when they unearth every clue in the Chester household to search for answers. In the end, they connected the dots to learn the truth of her disappearance and what led behind it with a shocking ending to keep you in suspense.

This was a fascinating and riveting debut in the Bronte Sisters Historical Mystery series. I did care for Emily, Anne and Charlotte, as they told this story in a most captivating way. Before they were well-known published novelists, they became full of life as detectors to solve a most perplexed mystery right under their nose. I cared for them and how they worked with their brother Branwell to help give them a hand. I did love the intricate settings around Yorkshire and Hathorn England in the 1840s and how those locations popped on the page to came to life. This would make you intrigued and curious to find out how they might've gotten over their heads with non-stop action, suspense, intrigue, and plenty of drama to keep you at the edge of your seat.

Gray Mountain

In John Grisham's Gray Mountain, this legal thriller deviated from his regular legal thrillers and told the story from a female MC's POV that would leave you speechless. For Samantha Kofer, her job at a Wall Street Firm had came to the end, when it's been downsized and she's one of the people who's been furloughed out of there. As she looked for work as an intern, she had gotten lucky to work at a legal aid clinic in Brady, Virginia in Appalachia county. At first she didn't have much of a welcome to meet her employees, but she had learned the ropes the hard way for her first couple of months at the job. She helped her clients who were poor and dealing with a variety of topics from divorce and domestic abuse, wills, meth use, and fighting the coal companies. That's when she met Donovan Gray, a prestigious lawyer who made it his business to stop the coal companies strip mining the mountains and wrecking havoc in various lands. When Donovan informs her about what this big league coal companies were up to, she became curious to know more. But in Appalachia, she had been dealt with threats from those coal companies who won't back down and take no for an answer. Her clients trusted her and her legalese for help and made new friends with the people in the clinic. But when Donovan died in a plane crash, things change and the FBI breathed down their neck. It was up to Samantha and Donovan's brother Jeff to help set things right before things got troublesome for them, right before she decides if she wants pack up to go back to NYC or stay aboard in Virginia.

This was an interesting and compelling legal thriller that deals with real life issues concerning coal mining and the downside of it. I did care for Samantha as she learns how things had gotten badly with the people in and around Brady, Virginia. But she did make the right decision in the end.  I also felt sorrow when Donovan mysteriously died in his plane crash that had changed things around. I enjoyed getting to know more about Annette and Mattie and how they made her felt welcomed and to fit in. I did love the vast array of scenic arrangements from Brady Virginia to parts of Tennessee and Kentucky and West Virginia. I did find Gray Mountain captivating that it was isolated and safe from mining on the mountain. This would make you wonder and shake your head with non-stop action, plenty of intrigue and suspense, and lots of legal drama to keep you compelled on every page.

Will you make a trip down to Gray Mountain and see for yourself today?
