In Sarina Bowen's Pipe Dreams, the third installment in the Brooklyn Bruises hockey sports romance series, you'll have a front row seat in the action of romance of this fantastic love story. For Lauren Williams, she had sworn off hockey ever since Brooklyn Bruisers goalie Mike Beacon broke her heart two years ago. Now she works for the office of the manager, earning her college degree without her parent's help, and planning to have a child of her own alone. But when she runs into Mike again, it conjures up bad memories of the past. For Mike Beacon, a widower and single father of a preteen daughter, life off the ice had hit some snags. But when he plays hockey as the goalie, things are golden. And when they met in the pre-season, Mike haven't stopped loving her and wants a second chance with Lauren. He would do everything to win her heart and to set things right, even if he throws a curveball in her plans to have a baby by a sperm donor. But when they make love, they set the night on fire. Things do get complicated when Elsa, his daughter, has issues with Lauren, when she blames her for breaking up their marriage. Later, when Lauren discovers she's pregnant with Mike's baby, it changes everything as he wants to score big with the two women he loves and cares the most on and off the hockey rink with a happy ending.

This was a fantastic addition to the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey sports romance series. I did like the sports action of a hockey game and the romance that takes place off the ice. It had put you right in the front seat to see the comings and going of an actual hockey game. I did care for Lauren and how she had gotten over a broken heart and how she was her own woman to go for her own dreams. I also found Mike nice and caring who wants to do right for her daughter if not for himself. I'm glad that Elsa turned the other check in hindsight and came around to accept Lauren into her life. I loved the Florida and New York dual locations for the novel and how it felt realistic for the scenic settings during the play-offs and World Cup series. This would make you cheer and stomp your feet with sparking romance, plenty of non-stop action, drama, and lots of suspense to keep you hook and on your feet.
