In Manda Collins's Wallflower Most Wanted, the third installment in the Studies in Scandal historical romance series, get ready to be swept away into a fantastic love story that would make your heart pound. Miss Sophia Hastings is a profound painter and one of the heiresses at the Beauchamp House with her sister and two of their closest friends. It all started when Sophia eavesdropped to hear a disturbing conversation between two men and twisted her ankle in the process. That's when she met Lord Benedick Lisle, a vicar from Little Seaford. From there, the chemistry between them is palpable. Although Sophia became intrigued to the conversation between them, there's a lurking danger out there to do her harm. And for industrialist Peter Morgan, he has a secret to keep and would've preferred that way. For Sophia and Ben, they put the pieces together to discover the root source of the conversation and Morgan's secret ring of art forgers. Morgan would throw them off the tracks and hurl obstacles in their way. Nothing could stop them from solving this puzzle together, nor stop them for becoming betrothed to one another, until they had to follow their noses as Sophia didn't expect someone closest to her to do her harm in the end.
This was an exquisite historical romance that had all the wrong components for a great love story--romance, intrigue, danger, mystery, and a hint of adventure. I cared about Sophia and how she wanted to make her own imprints in the art world. I loved her piqued interest to the wonderment of adventure and finding her own perfect match that was well suited for each other. I also adored Gemma, Ivy and Daphne, who were her perfect confidants when she needed them the most. I had found Ben dashing and handsome and easy on the eyes too for a vicar. The settings of London and Little Seaford were fantastic for the locations of the story with great visualization. This story would sweep you off your feet with non-stop action, drama, suspense and plenty of hot romance.
Will you become a wallflower most wanted today?

Tall Man in Raybans
In Joseph Flynn's Tall Man in RayBans, the first installment in the John Tall Wolf Mystery series, this mystery is so twisted with surprising turns on every page. If you love Tony and Anne Hillerman and Margaret Coel's mysteries with a Native American Indian lead character, you would be a fan of this series about John Tall Wolf. It all started when two kids found a dead body at the beach in Austin Texas. After the local federal were called in, that's when BIA Agent John Wolf came into the scene. Besides getting to know about his back story, especially why he wear shades, he's on the hunt for a serial cop killer named Randy Bear Heart. As he works with other local enforcement, he gets to know the backstory of Randy's serial crime spree and how he lassoed two women into his life as his "Bonnies." The trial led to Lily Bird White, his current flame, and her sister Annie Forger. Between the two of them, they have a bone to pick with Randy and a visible trail of crime, including the triple homicides that killed her husband and two other hockey players. In the end, it left her rich and ready to start a new life while abandoning her two sons. For John, he became to piece the puzzle that linked together and searches for them in Banff with a shocking and twisted ending, when this good guy would win hands down.
This was a terrific ground-breaking mystery debut that deals with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for the lead character's background. That's something we haven't seen before. I do really care about John and how he became to be the agent wearing the shades. I hate to see him have that infliction with the sun in his eyes. I did like Darton and Marlene Flower Moon. I've found John's background and upbringing really interesting and compelling. The trifecta of locations of Banff and Austin and New Mexico were amazing and very good in visualization for excellent settings. This riveting mystery will make you shake your head, grit your teeth, take a deep breath, and hold on for a wild ride with nonstop action, drama, suspense and plenty of intrigue.

Tipping Point
In David Poyer's Tipping Point, the 15th installment in the Dan Lenson military thriller series, this novel would take you to the high seas with realistic fiction about the brink of war. Back home, Captain Dan Lenson is taking the heat from his past wartime actions with his crew on the USS Savo Island ship, and faces a grueling tribunal meeting with Congress. His wife Blair is campaigning for a hot seat in Congress and needs his support. On the water, he runs the ship on dangerous waters and deals with compelling trouble in hostile land. First it started with a complaint from one of his female crew members being attacked and assaulted by an unknown assailant in night. That started a probe and a long-dragged out discussion with everyone on board. Then everyone's feeling the crud in the ship as they lose one of their own overnight from an unknown airborn disease. While under the weather, Dan does his best to helm his boat and prepare to stop another world war between India and Pakistan. With everything going on, they help out the country of Maldives take care of disaster relief from a tidal wave and China hacks into their systems to bring the USA to a standstill. More complaints of attacks come pouring in, the crew is sick with the crud, and Dan needs some serious downtime. In the end, they prepare to buckle down and strike against Pakistan for a war, while a storm's brewing inside of his ship and more fielded complaints to stop an unknown perpetator in their tracks.
This was a fabulous installment in the military thriller series. It deals with real life and current events with the war that's brewing outside our country right now. The dialogue was real reastic in maritime and naval terms, since David Poyer was a retired veteran of the Navy himself. Dan Lenson is a very likeable and personable character, in which it made me care about him and how he handled his crew on and off his ship. He obviously cares for Blair and for his daughter Nan from a previous marriage. Though he could be hot-headed, he knows how to be in charge and handles all types of things. I liked how he had a diverse crew of female and male members of all races and nationalities. The vast locations from the China Sea to the Indian Ocean and the Maldives made it very picturesque and alluring on and off the ocean for various settings. This would take you on a wild and intense journey with non-stop action, drama, suspense, and plenty hints of mystery.
Will you be ready to reach the tipping point of war today?

I Know My Name
In C.J. Cooke's I Know My Name, this thriller is reminiscent of a cross between Castaway and Ted Dekker's Three. When Eloise Shelley, a wife and mother of two young kids, winds up on the coast of Kommeno Island, Greece, she finds out she's not alone on the island with other people. While unwell, she begins to know the other residents of the island and get to know them better. Meanwhile, back in England, her husband and grandparents frantically search for her and clues to her strange disappearance. Tensions are high and secrets come out, while blame is placed on Lochlan for what's seen on the footage of the babycams. Things are also hectic for where he goes to work in Edinburgh, too. Back on the island, Eloise remembers her names and also flashes back to where she lived with her mother and her abusive husband in her difficult childhood. While she tries to survives with her "friends", she looks for a way to get off the island and food to sustain in the next week. One of them named George is mostly disturbing with a violent nature. Later, the police is suspicious of Lochlan as they learn more information about Eloise, until his grandmother-in-law Gerda Bachmann discovers about the secret Eloise kept and how her mental health is severely fragile. In the end, she finds a way to escape to get home and remembers more of her past and gets the help she needs.
This was a gripping and startling thriller that deals with your psyche and boggles your mind. I did care for Eloise, past and present, and how much she went through before she could literally break. I did feel bad for her and for Lochlan, while her grandparents can be overbearing and protective at times. I did love the vast and idyllic location of Kommeno Island, Greece, and the visualization of life in the UK for both England and Scotland for the settings. This would make you grit your teeth, gasp, drop your jaw, shake your head and so much more by the ending with non-stop drama, action, suspense and a dollop of intrigue.
Will you give this book a try tonight?

Death by Cashmere
In Sally Goldenbaum's Death by Cashmere, the first installment in the Seaside Knitters crafty cozy series, this debut's mystery will have you tangled up in knots by the climax's end. When former lawyer Izzy Chambers opened up her knitting studio in the picturesque town of Seaside Harbor, Massachusetts, she didn't expect to get caught up in a mystery of her own. It all started when she rented her apartment above the studio to Angelina Archer, a wild child with wild red hair as her first tenant. But when she was discovered death in Izzy's borrowed cashmere sweater, trapped by lobster traps in the ocean, it had stunned Izzy and her friends in the knitting studio to talk about her murder in this sleepy peaceful town. As the police had ruled it out as an accident, Izzy's Aunt Nell didn't believe so and called it suspicious. They dug deeper into her private and personal life and questioned their own neighbors. The closer they had gotten to the truth, another suspect had fallen to his untimely death. Now they had to look harder into her belongings on what caused her death and who would do bodily harm to her. And when someone close to them who was harmless ended up hospitalized, they beg to differ than someone would make sure they would be silenced for knowing the truth.
This was a fantastic crafty cozy debut that informs you about knitting and the different yarns like the others. I liked the town of Seaside Harbor and how it painted a picture ocean town by the beach. It had rich and crisp scenic location to picture how a small-knit town comes together in tragedy and to solve a mystery. I've cared for Izzy and could see how she might be smitten by Sam. I loved how Nell is a strong woman who would throw no punches, and how Birdie is tenacious like her nickname. This would compell you to keep guessing at every page and shake your head a few times with a grumble and groan from time to time. It has enrichening drama, non-stop action, intrigue and plenty of mystery to give you give goosebumps right to the end.

A Doll's House
In M.J. Arlidge's A Doll's House, the third installment in the Helen Grace serial thriller series, this chilling thriller will blow your mind and send spriral chills through your spine. When Ruby Spackling was discovered missing, and a dead body was discovered on the beach, DI Helen Grace from the Northingham Police was on the scene from her team. The decomposed body of Pippa Briers, who was presumed missing for a couple of years, was only the tip of this rock hard iceberg. While the madman had kept Ruby prisoner in his own doll's house, it was a race against time. The heat was on for Helen and DI Sanderson, when her superior DS Ceri Harwood had more than a pick of a bone with her and wanted to ruin her career in more ways than one. With Helen's colleagues and close friends supported her on the case, she would do anything to stand her ground. And that's when two more bodies were discovered on the same beach, another two missing persons case with the same link to the killer and Ruby's kidnapper--the texts and tweets that came from their accounts and the Bluebird tattoo. When they pieced together this puzzle with one final link, Ruby escapes from her captor and Helen's risk her own life to bring the killer down in a blaze of glory.
This was another gripping and a bit disturbing thriller in this series. But it captured my attention and made me want to read more. I cared for Helen Grace and how she dealt with some many things that's been thrown at her, inside and outside of work. I liked how she put her team on charge and grab pieces and bits to connect this puzzle. I've found Lloyd to be okay with his own faults and Ceri Harwood a bit condesending and mean. I did like the Northingham locations set in London and how it appealed to my scenes for the settings. This would make you hooked on the first page and to keep on reading more to the end. It would have your heart pumping at every twisted turn with nonstop action, drama, suspense and a lot of mystery.

Into the Night
In Cynthia Eden's Into the Night, the third installment in the Killer Instinct romantic suspense series, this twisted tale will make your head spin and give you whiplash in the ending. For FBI Agent Macey Night, she was the only survivor of Dr. Daniel Haddox's twisted crimes and lived to tell about it. Now as an agent for Agent Samantha Dark's profiler team, it would take her wits and her determination to deal with the most serial crimes. To help her fight the pain from the past, she became involved with her partner, Bowen Murphy, which was risky and against protocol. Between the two of them, they were on the hunt for Haddox and discovered his dead body with nails in his eyes. Now someone kept taunting them, especially Bowen, that he was the one who found him and took care of business. To prove his while, he was ahead of them every step of the way, until they've tracked down the next victim, a serial pyromaniac and arsonist. With someone watching their every move in the midst, they thought they would take this perp down until he went after a cop and later would go after them. For Macey and Bowen, things do heat up between them with a red-hot love for wanting each other. But when they're caught in the killer's crossfire, things change and put them in a life and death position... when they discover who was response with a shocking twist or two in the end that would leave you speechless.
This was a compelling and explosive romantic suspense novel. I instantly cared for Macey and what she had endured in the past to preservere in the present for the future. I did think Bowen was a good catch, though risky to start something with her in the midst of an investigation. The cast of characters were compelling to darn right creepy and dark. I did like the dual locations of Tennessee and North Carolina with fantastic visual images for the settings. This gave me goosebumps and chilled all over from start to finish and would let you feel the same way too. This has excellent non-stop action, suspense, explosive romance, and a bone-chilling mystery you wouldn't believe in the end.

Crossing the Line
In Kerry Wilkinson's Crossing the Line, the 8th installment in the Jessica Daniel serial thriller series, this novel would make you think twice on what you do and to whom you do it to. It all started when someone assaulted a solicitor by throwing citric acid on their face. That had put Detective Inspector Jessica Daniel on the scene with her partner Isobel to dig deep into the background of their first victim. Later on, then someone else was assaulted by a bat, someone who's bearing a mask from an Anarchy group and making a scathing statement. While this was going on, Jessica dealt with the heat from her police department and then of her mother, when she went searching for Tony Franingham, someone she had met in the past and having issues with drugs. While they kept an eye for an elusive drug dealer, they've come across a third victim and tried to put the pieces together to form this big puzzle. But during a festival, someone close to her had become attacked by the same masked person. While the picture had grown to a bigger mystery, they started to connect the dots to connect them to their perp... the connection is unpredictable and unfathomable. When they have found the guy, she dealt with the kidnapping to someone at the force, someone who needed to make a bold statement about one of their own's false accusations about the Stretford Slasher's arrest. In the end, Jessica fights for her life to deal with the drug dealer in a battle of wit and brawn to solve both cases.
This was a gripping and a bit disturbing thriller in the midst of the series. I did care for Jessica and what she went through at home and at the police station. She had a whole lot going on at the same time. And I believe Adam could be perfect for her. I do like the storyline and the plot, which sent me chills and kept me on my toes. I did like her DI Jack Cole. The locations were perfect in Stetford and Manchestershire, England with gripping scenic settings. This would make you hold your breath, shake your head, moan and squeeze your eyes shut with nonstop action, drama, suspense and a lot of mystery.

Fight to the Finish
In Jeannette Murray's Fight to the Finish, the 3rd installment in the First to Fight boxing sports romance series, this one would make you throw no punches and give you a helluva of a TKO punch. For Kara Smith, she's a single mother raising her ten-year-old son Zach on her own. She's a yoga instructor for the Marine at Camp Jejeune and a successful blogger about her son's gluten-free diet. And when she's at her best friend Marianne's picnic, she hangs out with her friends and sets her sights for JAG Officer Graham Sweeney. Zach dotes on him and wants together. As for Graham, he would do anything possible to have Kara and Zach in his life. At first sight, there was a brewing chemistry between them. And before they could dance around the ring to be together, they would have to keep their budding romance a secret from her son. While Kara and Graham set out to test the feelings for each other, the gang at the gym have to deal with a vandal, while prepping for the All Military Boxing games in Texas. And Kara has to deal with her ex who wants to decrease child support payments by putting a squeeze on her. If Kara doesn't do anything about it to stop him, she wouldn't have the freedom to go outside state lines. With Graham on her side, he would help her anything way possible, even from throwing some heat by adding pressure. As a boxer, the battle is on inside the ring; outside of the ring, all gloves are off to throw down the gauntlet to fight for what they want and have a happy ending.
This was an excellent sports romance series with the boxing and military theme. I cared for Kara and her son Zachary. I really feel bad that her parents weren't supportive of her, and that her ex was uncaring and ruthless. But I'm glad she had help from her freinds. I did think Graham was a piece of hot eye candy and go throw a good punch or two to make ends meet. I loved how he was a JAG Officer and a boxer to boot. I do see them as an awesome couple together and for Zach to have a real dad of his own. I loved the dual locations of North Carolina and later Texas to set this novel on fire with gripping descriptions and amazing settings. They would make you want to root for Kara and Graham and to grab a fan for the hot and steamy scenes with non-stop action, drama, red-hot romance and plenty of intrigue from start to finish.
