This was a compelling and fascinating new novel from Christina Dodd. This red-hot romantic thriller was explosive and intense through and through. I cared for Evelyn Jones (aka Petie) and how she fought her plight and came out strong and kicking like a phoenix rising from the ashes. All she wanted was to go home to see her family and had some obstacles to make that reunion remotely impossible. I did feel bad for Zone who had a grueling plot from being a prisoner in a foreign country to discover his family is gone from a brutal and grisly double murder. I did love how they meshed and worked together to find each other and won in the end. I loved the sleepy small town of Rockin and all of its alluring charm including the fishing camp--Evie's self-imposed exile for a decade--for the startling location to host plenty of mesmerizing scenic settings. The theme of this story is that we're innocent into proven guilty in our fight for justice and bittersweet revenge.

This was a beautiful love story about star-crossed lovers who were meant to be. I loved the locations of Bella Terra in California with the vineyard and the small town resort and close-knit community. I became heartsick for Penelope for dealing such blows of losing her loved ones in grief, and how she reunited with Noah by tempting fate. I cared for Noah's plight, when he was stuck between a rock and a real hard place with a ticking time bomb around his neck. This would take you on an emotional wild roller coaster ride from start to finish with heated chemistry, suspense, non-stop action and drama with intrigue.

Scent of Darkness

In Christina Dodd's Scent of Darkness, the first installment in the Darkness Chosen paranormal romance series, a couple of words had popped into my mind when I read--red hot, primal, sexy, exotic. That summed it up. This paranormal romance would make you purr like a cat or howl like a coyote. You would be introduced to Jasha Wilder, a sexy Russian immigrant and wine producer, as we would learn about his dark side and his hidden and secret past. Ann Smith, his administrative assistant had a dark secret of her own and a troubled past, too. But when you read about them, you couldn't miss the smoldering chemistry, the passion, the romance, and the intrigue between the Wilder family and what they went through to get here. I became curious to know them more and to see them get together in a more than professional way. They do make an attractive couple in more ways than one. For both of them, they would have to find the light of the tunnel and know they were meant for each other. Bring a fan for this one or turn up the AC, when you read this steamy paranormal series.


 This was a fantastic and thrilling paranormal romance novel. This had piqued my interest in so many levels. I became interested in Jasha's life with a dark side and concerned about his past. I thought Ann had something going on with her, when she turned up the heat with Jasha. There was something about him that had brought out the wild side between them. I loved the California locations and the vast settings for this novel. This would make you fall for this shape-shifter with drama, hot romance, intrigue and lots of non-stop action.

My Scandalous Bride

If you love historical romance and anthologies, this is the one for you. In these four stories, there's a couple coming together, an obstacle between them, and a scandal, one way or another, with a happy ending. In The Lady and the Tiger by Christina Dodd, Laura Haver avenge her brother's dead, and pretends to be Keefe Leighton's bride. In Melting Ice by Stephanie Laurie, Dyan will do anything to make Fiona Winston-Ryder melt and burn, a woman who wanted to be his bride in the past, and even now.
