 In Debbie Macomber's Silver Linings, the 4th installment in the Cedar Cove Rose Harbor contemporary romance series, this compelling and beautifully written contemporary romance will move you to tears. For Jo Marie Rose, the innkeeper of Rose Harbor Inn in Cedar Cove, she's been a young widow and mourned the loss of her husband Paul. When she purchased the inn and hired Mark Taylor, her handyman to build the gazebo, they had a working relationship and friendship. Within time, before the project was done, Mark put his house on sale and left without saying goodbye to Jo Marie. He must be hiding something from her as Jo Marie begins to experience life and seeing her friends again. For Kellie "Coco" Crenshaw and Katie Gilroy, two best friends who returned to Cedar Cove to seek out the boys who hurt them the most.  Coco wanted to tell Ryan how he felt about how he treated her in the past, and Kellie wanted to explain why she broke off her relationship with James Harper. All three women were seeking answers to those questions and discover that new love could blossom for them to give them a second chance behind a cloud's silver lining with a happy ending.

 

This was a beautiful contemporary romance that tugs the heart and deals with second chances to find and rediscover love. I instantly cared for Jo Marie on how she handled Mark's aloofness and why he had to leave her for his own reasons. I loved how she cared for her clients and how she managed to break out from the shell from grieving her husband's love and to seek out friends and fun. I cared for both Katie and Coco, who were both sought out for a mission and accomplished it with a new ray of sunlight to lead their way of finding true happiness in love. I also loved how their lives were intertwined with one another. The Cedar Cove setting was mesmerizing and beautiful and captivating for a small town in Northern Washington. The theme of the story is you can't change the past, but you can pave the way for the future.

If you love heartfelt and emotional-packed contemporary romances with heart-stopping drama, plenty of non-stop action, lots of love and tearjerking moments, Silver Linings is the one for you.

16 Lighthouse Road

In Debbie Macomber's 16 Lighthouse Road, the first book in the Cedar Cove series, she told us a beautiful story about romance and family. We were introduced to Olivia Lockhart and to her friends, family, and other people in the community. It all started with the divorce proceedings for Cecilia and Ian Randall. For the past couple of months, we showed how Olivia began a new relationship with Jack Griffin, how Grace Sherman dealt with her husband's disappearance, how Olivia's daughter Justine got caught up in a love triangle, and how the Randalls began to fall in love with each other again to start a new life. This was wonderfully written that touched my heart, just like Hallmark Channel's Cedar Cove series.

I really enjoyed this romance/woman's fiction series. I cared about Olivia and the people in the series. I found Cedar Cove a real charming town to be in for the state of Washington. However, I did find some inconsistencies that weren't in Hallmark's Cedar Cove series that differed from the book: there was no mention of Kelly and Paul, nor of James. I also found out that the cancer bit with Eric to father children were also different in the series, too, just as Justine's marriage to Seth, when in the TV show, she was engaged to him, on and off. This made me laugh, cry, sigh and cringe as well. You'll fall in love with the Cedar Cove series--both versions--when you're hooked in the first page.

311 Pelican Court

If you love great romance series, you'll enjoy Debbie Macomber's 311 Pelican Court, the 3rd book in the Cedar Cove series. When Rosie Cox got divorced, Judge Olivia Lockhart gave her and her ex a weird ruling--they had to give the house to their two kids. Between them, they tried to make it work with the visitation agreement, while second guessing what went wrong in their marriage, while it had affected their kids the most. Slowly they rekindled their feelings together. Meanwhile while they tried to solve the murder mystery of who was killed in Bob and Peggy's B&B, we continue to watch what happened with Grace Sherman, Jack and Olivia's relationship, and Justine deal with being wed to Seth. An enjoyable read.

Although I haven't read the 2nd book in the series and skipped it, (and this storyline haven't been featured in Hallmark's Cedar Cove, maybe this summer for season 3,) this was a wonderful romance/woman's fiction novel. I did like the settings for Cedar Cove, Washington, when each address had a storyline feature. I did care about the Coxes and the other Cedar Cove residents. I did get a bit worried on how they were going to work things out, too, in the end. This would make you cry, sigh and praise God for a happy ending in this revolving series. Great drama, nice action with a hint of mystery and romantic suspense.

Susannah's Garden

In Debbie Macomber's Susannah's Garden, the third book in the Blossom Street series, was a great romance, which dealt with romance and family in every single way possible, with a hint of mystery and drama, and to reconnect once again. It dealt with Susannah, who dreamt of her long lost love Jake, her childhood sweetheart she haven't seen in ages. She also had gotten a call from her neighbor on her mother's failing health, and now knew she needed to put her in an assisted-living facility. When she returned back home, she discovered about finding out secrets on her father, handled her twenty-year-old rebellious daughter, and an old friend to reconnect with her long-lost love. A beautiful story to cherish about love, loss and family.

This was a wonderful romance from her second beloved contemporary romance series. I did care about Susannah and her family. I loved the connection she had with gardening and to her own family. I loved the Washington state connection to this one as well. I was intrigued on why she lost so much--her lost love and her brother--and wondered the mystery on her father. From start to finish, this moved me to tears and fall in love with flowers and more of her books. Great romance, plenty of intrigue and suspense, with a hint of mystery and action along the way.
