Cherry Cheesecake Murder

In Joanne Fluke's Cherry Cheesecake Murder, the 8th installment in the Hannah Swensen culinary cozy series, actions did speak louder than words. First Hannah was in a pickle, when she was stuck in the love triangle between two men who proposed to her... and later turned them down with her answer. She didn't want to get into a betting war, either. Then when word came that a movie production had came to her small town of Lake Eden to film some scenes there. When every world's a stange, everybody was a key player in the film as extras. Besides her old college friend Ross Barton produced the film, things got heated with Dean Lawrence, the director, when he rubbed people the wrong way. During the set, he was accidentally shot with a gun and not as prop. Now it was up to Hannah and Mike to find out who done it and why they switched revolvers in the end.

This was another great culinary cozy in the Hannah Swensen series that featured recipes! I adored Hannah and her sisters and cared for Mike and even for Norman who both vied for her attention. I loved how she made them jealous when she dined with Ross. I continued to love Lake Eden's small town charm in Minnesota and how the town came together. This would enchant you with a great cozy to read and heat up those winter nights with a spark of romance, intrigue, mystery and non-stop action with drama.

The Lemon Meringue Pie Murder

If you like nice warm cozy series, this is the one for you. In the fourth Hannah Swensen installment, poor Hannah is in a pickle. Two men are after her affections, and she'd sworn off investigating murders. But when someone else she knows dies, her close family and friends ask her to look into it with the police's support, when she relents. Between running her bakery and catering parties, while prepping for the 4th of July parade, she learns new information on the victim's murder and her life. Things look interesting, when her baby sister Michelle arrives into town. And strange things have been popping up. We see Hannah worried about her weight and her affections for two men, with her intervening mother, and someone she knows bears an evil heart and come gunning after her, when she puts the pieces together. We root for Hannah's bravery and watch how this love triangle unfolds, and love her yummy recipes!

Blueberry Muffin Murder

Earlier this year, I've read the first two books in the series. Now I've read the third and immensely enjoyed it. In Blueberry Muffin Murder, Hannah prepares to make the cake for the Lake Eden Winter Carnival. When Connie Mac, a famous and bitter cooking celebrity, comes to town, everyone feels the wrath of her unpleasantness and bossiness. It wasn't until later, when Hannah discovers her in her candy shop, which became a crime scene. Hannah's now on the scene to find out who killed her, and some surprising secrets along the way, until she uncovers another dead body in the lake. Then things became intense, until the murder's after Hannah, someone she knows. Plus, her love triangle heats up between Mike and Norman. Yummy recipes included.

The Strawberry Shortcake Murder

Earlier this year, I've read the first book in the Hannah Swensen cozy series, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. Now I've recently read the next installment, the Strawberry Shortcake Murder. In this book, Hannah's in charge of a bake-off contest as one of the judges, when she gets involved into the next murder, just weeks after she helped solve the first one. Still in winter, Boyd Watson's is found dead. And everyone is a suspect, including his wife Danielle. When Lucy Richards sneaks around for the scoop, she becomes suspicious and becomes missing days later. That's when Hannah discovers her blackmail scheme before she finds Lucy dead. It's up to Hannah to connect the dots before she becomes the next victim. Plus, she's still in the middle of a love triangle between Norman and Mike. As always, it includes yummy recipes. I'll be reading the third book next month.

Chipped to Death

If you love good culinary cozies with recipes, you'll love the Hannah Swenson series by Joanne Fluke. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder is the first one in the series which deals with Hannah and her shop, The Cookie Jar, when she solves a murder of Ron La Salle at all lengths, to figure things out. Plus, her mother, the matchmaker tries to set her up with Norman, a dentist who maybe be boring and nice, with multiple attempts, and at the end with Mike Kingston, a new police detective, who's always a sexy widower, who's vying for her attention. A lovely cozy with delightful recipes. Plus, there's a sweet novella after called Candy for Christmas, about a runaway teen during Christmas. And the recipes are to die for! I'll be reading three other books in this series later this year.
