Shattered

If you love red-hot explosive romantic suspense novels, this one is for you. Thirty years ago, the Garcia family disappeared on the face of the earth. In Shattered, nothing what it appeared to be or what it seemed. Lisa Grant worked for the DA's office in her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. When she uncovered their cold case file, she set things in motion and uncovered deep surprising secrets. Scott Buchanan was the DA and her boss. With a wary eye, he watched her back and helped her on the case. Although Lisa's rich and he's poor, there's red-hot chemistry that goes way back to when they were kids. Along the way, someone wanted to stop Lisa from going further to find the answers, putting herself and her family in danger. And they suspected everyone she was close to, when more family secrets and revelations turned up from the grave. Together they discovered the truth and the power of love between them, when her life remained dangling on the line until the end.

This was a powerful romantic suspense. I loved the Kentucky background and the small town connections. I loved how Lisa became a strong main lead character. I believe Scott and Lisa would make a good couple together. I did feel bad for Marisol and the family that was killed. There was some characters I couldn't care less about. I loved Lisa's mom, until she died in the car accident. This was beautiful and heartfelt with lots of action, explosive sexual chemistry, and great drama.

Bait

In this novel, Karen Robards placed us right in the middle of danger in Bait. Someone was after Maddie Fitzgerald, who started her own advertising company, and had a secret of her own. When there was a hit on her life, she me FBI agent, Sam McCabe, who was in charge of protecting her, while other people had been killed and taunted by the killer by phone. When she encountered McCabe, they butted heads. Later, they fall in love, knowing they were right for each other. When the truth came out in the open, it placed a kink into their relationship, when he discovered her real name and story, running and hiding from the mob, who were also after him. In the end, her past caught up with her, until McCabe saved her. What a great read.

This romantic suspense packed a punch or two. I loved the locale backdrop for this novel and the concept. I did feel a pang for Maddie, who had a secret or two to keep. I also loved Sam was a dashing FBI agent to save her. I think the match up between the two of them was magical and wonderful. We could really see the sparks flying between them to show their chemistry. I hated for the mob to come after her as well. Great drama, lots of heated romance, and plenty of action to keep you reading all day long.

Vanished

If you love a great romantic suspense novel, you'll enjoy Vanished by Karen Robards. Sarah Mason, an ADA in Beaufort, Kentucky, was caught up in a conspiracy, when she still grieved the loss of her missing daughter Lexie, who'd vanished for seven years. It all started with a phone call from a child that sounded like Lexie and turned to her best friend, Jake Hogan, who was also a PI. She fought a growing attraction to him. Together, they've found out the truth on what's been going on, inside and outside the court case, that dealt with a random amount of events that brought them together, as the passion exploded between them, which also lead to a shocking twist and a happy ending. This is a great one to bring a Kleenex for.

This was another compelling romantic suspense that tackled on hard core subject matters. I loved the Beauford Kentucky location for the scenic and idyllic background for this troubling storyline. I did feel an ache for Sarah, when Lexie turned up missing for years. I loved how she reached out to Jake to help her out, when there was a sparking chemistry between them. This one sent me shivers and cringe for every subtle bad part. It also made me cry in the end, too. Good drama, lots of sensual and sexual tension, and plenty of action and suspense to keep you reading.
