Revenge of Innocents

In the 4th installment of the Carolyn Sullivan series, Revenge of Innocents, Nancy Taylor Rosenberg delivered us a shocker and took us a dark side. While planning her wedding to Marcus, Carolyn learned about her best friend's death. From there, she became entangled into a web of lies and deceit and other family secrets. When she became the legal guardian of her oldest daughter Jude, she didn't know what to believe between fact and fiction. We watched how emotionally involved she was to the case that pushed her to the limit. She took her career seriously, while others helped her pick up the pieces to this startling dark legal thriller. We see how she unraveled, while trying to keeping it together. This one delivered us a sucker-punch. I wished Nancy Taylor Rosenberg's wrote new books.

This legal thriller dealt with hard core topics of abuse, eating disorders, and murder. This was like a bitter pill to swallow and so much more. I did hold my breath and let it out a couple of times, since it dealt with nitty-gritty subject matters. I felt bad for Carolyn, when all this stuff have happened. I didn't like Jude so much or her father Brad.  I adored Marcus, Carolyn's son John and her daughter. I was so happy that they finally got to make things final between them as a family. I could see how devoted Carolyn was to her career as a probation officer.

Go out and check out this legal thriller today!

My Lost Daughter

If you love great legal thrillers, you'll love the continuing series of Lily and Shana Forrester in My Lost Daughter.  In the last installment, Lily was in the middle of the head-lining case, straight from the news, when she was worried about her daughter Shana and the distant gap between them. Things still haven't been the same. Shana's life was falling apart. When Lily visited her, she was worried about the mess she made and the lies Shana told. Convinced she needed help, she sent her to Whitehall, when things weren't what they seemed for her medication. While Lily was on trial, Shana learned the secrets between Whitehall and the obsessive nature on one of her "friends", when drugs made you crazy and strange. Worried for her life, she called or help, when things got in tense, once she was out, and more into danger, which only brought Lily and Shana together and closer than before. What a good one!

This was a pivotal conclusion the series, when it focused on both mother and daughter. I became worried for Shana and for Lily as well. This would leave you with a lump in your throat as well. I loved how they've gotten closer together to move past the hard times from the past.  It was only a fitting conclusion with closure for both of them. I loved the scenic backdrop from California to paint the scene well. I'll miss this series and her other books.

The Cheater

In the third installment of the Lily Forester legal thriller series, The Cheater was a terrific new legal thriller from Nancy Taylor Rosenberg. Lily Forrester returned years later as the judge, who dealt with a new husband, an estranged daughter, and two new cases, when a serial killer made her family a target. To start things off, her new husband called her from a Las Vegas jail cell and was charged with attempted rape.  Meanwhile, FBI Mary Stevens tracked down a serial killer who target cheating husbands. It all lead to a web service who listed cheated husbands, placing Lily and Mary as potential targets for the serial killer. Plenty of twists and turns with a bit of romance and lots of high-paced action. A must read for all NTR fans.

This was an exquisite legal thriller which continued the drama for Lily and her family many years late. I did feel sadness for Lily, when this happened and when her daughter continued to distance herself from her. I love the Las Vegas-California angle as well with the Internet/FBI twist as well. I wished Nancy Taylor Rosenberg continued to write books and more in this series, after My Lost Daughter a few years ago. Maybe she retired from writing. I loved the twists and turns and the edge of suspense to keep you hot in your seats.
