In Robin Lee Hatcher's How Sweet It Is, the third installment in the Legacy of Faith inspirational romance series, this beautiful dual timeline story would warm your heart deep down inside. For Jed Henning, he was set out to go to Boise, Idaho to look for his estranged brother Chris. Jed's a workaholic and runs a computer company and rents a downstairs apartment from Holly Stanford. Holly is dealing with a broken heart and had run into financial issues with her restaurant. At first, Holly and Jed become friends and get to know each other better. She also helps abusive women learn how to cook in a shelter and plan her sister's wedding. While Jed looks for Chris, he reads his great-grandfather Andrew Henning's Bible as we're transported back into time to 1969 when Andrew deals with farm life, his wife's Helen's ailment and his own back pain and other family issues. Between the both timelines, they learn to trust each other and to have faith in God's plans with an emotional climax in the end.
This was a beautiful and heart-wrenching inspirational romance that deals with love, life and heartache in two different eras. I cared for both Jed and Holly, who were looking for answers and turned to God, before they've found each other by a strange twist of fate. I loved how they had dealt with such harrowing issues in their life and how they went about it. I also cared for Andrew who had gone to God for answers and how to embrace faith to give you the step forward to find courage in the end. I loved the rural and picturesque locations in Boise and how these scenic settings transport you there. The theme is to trust in God and put your faith in Him, because he has plans for you.
