To Sir, with Love

In Lauren Layne’s To Sir, With Love, this stand-alone adult Romcom is hilarious and perfect to chase away the winter blues. Gracie Cooper ran her family-owned champagne store ever since her father passed away. She’d been living in a fantasy world when she waited to meet her Prince Charming. But the only thing she had going for her was chatting with “Sir” via a dating app. She never met him in real life before but enjoyed their conversations. Enter Sebastian Andrews, her landlord who wanted to buy out her store, though she wanted nothing to do with it or him. She would do anything in her power to keep it afloat. But as Gracie had gotten to know Sebastian better, he discovered her true passion for art and lemon-flavored desserts. Then it was time for her to face reality and chase her dreams by closing the shop when a chance to have her art being exhibited in a private gallery. Would Gracie know that the person she chatted with all this time was there right in front of her and who knew her best?

This was a charming romantic comedy. I instantly cheered for Gracie and those intimate conversations she had with “Sir” and with Sebastian as well. I did care for him via Gracie’s point of view when he wasn’t so bad after all when she’d gotten to know him and what’s underneath him. These were plenty of hilarious moments to leave you in stitches and crying out loud. The NYC location was picture perfect to paint the scene from her store, his office, and the art gallery in between. The theme of the story is to follow your heart to chase your dreams.

I loved how it warmed my heart and enchanted me to follow Gracie’s story, though I couldn’t find anything wrong with it.  I adored the concept of meeting your Mr. Right in the least unexpected situations and possibly by text chats too in this romcom. This was heartfelt and wonderful at the same time. I rated this book, five out of five stars, because it was a delightful and charming read with hints of humor and swoon moments. This is recommended to everyone who loves the classic and contemporary romcoms and loves to watch Hallmark movies too. Take a chance by reading To Sir, With Love today.
