The Look-Alike

In Erica Spindler's The Look-Alike, this standalone thriller will leave you at the edge of your seat and leave you breathless. Ten years ago, Sienna Scott discovered a dead body in the snow when blood covered her hands. Now as she returns home to Tranquility Bluffs, Wisconsin, nothing's some peaceful about it. She received a lukewarm homecoming with her half-brother Brad and learned that the decade-old cold case had been reopened. That brought forth memories of the past and her concerns that she might share the same paranoid disorder her mother had and inherited. While she plans to open her own restaurant, she learns new details on the murder and new issues concerning her family, especially with her brother's finances. As she dug deep into the case, she remembers little details and tiny facts to help her out. As she deals with her mother's psychotic episodes, she does find love with her mother's new next-door neighbor Jonathan Hart. But it becomes difficult to separate the truth from the lies, what's fact from fiction, when she solves the puzzle with one clinching detail in a shocking ending.

This was a twisted and shocking new thriller from one of my favorite thriller authors, Erica Spindler. This left me hanging in suspense from start to finish and kept me hooked on every page. I loved the small town of Tranquility Bluffs and how it had an old history of that one unsolved case. It was enchanting and perfect to set the scene during a winter storm season. I cared for Sienna and how she handled everything going on her life. I loved how she re-established new roots in her hometown to have a fresh start in her life. The theme is to be careful on who you trust in your life and that to seek help for any medical health disorder.

If you love heart-stopping, bone-numbing non-stop action, tons of suspense, a dose of mystery, and a shovelful of drama, pick up the Look-A-Like today!

The Fallen Five

In Erica Spindler's the Fallen Five, the third installment in the Lightkeepers paranormal thriller series, this case was no other for Micki Dare and Zach Harris from the NOPD. It all started with the death of Thomas King, which was considered a suicide, when he jumped from the roof of his office building. It had changed things, when both Micki and Zach were in for a big and deep surprise. While Micki holds onto a special medallion from her friend Hank, Zach tries to connect with his mother Arianna. But between them, they deal with an unknown adversary who moves fast right before their eyes. And with the help from the High Council, they deal with a chameleon creature who shifts and transforms like no other. And this one has a personal grudge against Micki and tries to come between the people she cares for the most. And while she builds a wedge between the NOPD, it turns the tables and comes out with the images of her past. Meanwhile, Angel learns about her pregnancy and yearns for Seth to come to her, but there are forces who wishes to tear them apart. For everyone, their world is turned upside-down, while they set things right and capture the chameleon dead set in her tracks.

This was another fantastic fast-paced and gripping paranormal thriller than before. I instantly cared for Micki and how she dealt with the big blows that headed her way. She also kept her true emotions in check, while there's brewing chemistry between her and Zach. I also cared for Zach who learned more about his mother's past, while he haven't learned who his father was... yet. I did love the chameleon shifter concept for the villains and the storyline. The New Orleans background was sublime and realistic for the locations and the settings from start to finish. This would make you not want to blink an eye to miss a thing and hold onto your seat with non-stop drama, action, suspense and a hint of intrigue.

Will you the one to give the Fallen Five a try tonight?

Wishing Moon

In Erica Spindler's Wishing Moon, this early classic contemporary romance will make you fall in love and be swept away.  For Lance Alexander, he grew up with his single mother. As an older man, he didn't believe in love since his own mother had heart broken. He had never knew his father. But he's looking for more than love to find his wife. Madison "Madi" Muldoon yearns for motherhood and didn't want to get married, since her mother had been married and divorced many times before. When Lance met Madison in an interview for his non-profit fundraising charity on saving turtles, he knew they would mesh together. The sparks were right there for them. Together they get to know each other and date, while they worked in his campaign. They reveal their faults and their past mistakes as they get to know each other better. During one magical moonlit night, they made an wish and made passionate love. A few weeks later, Madi learns she's pregnant with Lance's child and worries how he would react. When she tells him, he wants the baby. But for what he proposes, she won't marry him unless it's for love. While they both hurting for each other, Lance makes a gallant move to sweep his fair lady off her feet in order to have a happily ever after that dreams were made of.

This was a beautiful and romantic early classic contemporary romance. This light read will make you feel warm all over. I cared for both Madison and Lance, separately and alone. They both have messed up childhoods and looking for a love connection... and a way to find each other's hearts. I loved the Melbourne Beach, Florida, location for this charming romance and sweet picturesque scenes.  This would make you swoon and sway, hopeful with dreams and wishes of your own, and leave you with a warm and fuzzy feeling. This has non-stop drama, light action, plenty of romance, and a hint of intrigue.

Will you find your own Wishing Moon tonight?

The Other Girl

In Erica Spindler's The Other Girl, her newest thriller yet to date is so twisted and compelling, it would make your head spin. Fifteen years ago, Miranda "Randi" Rader was a troubled teenage girl who had gotten into trouble. When someone picked her up, she cried rape. And no one believd her. Now, she's a grownup and a detective for the Harmony PD on a most disturbing case. When she and her partner, Detective Jake Billings, arrived on the crime scene of a murder college professor, things aren't what they seem to be. While they worked the case, she discovered a news clippings from fifteen years ago that thrown her back in the past. Now her boss, Chief Buddy Cadwell, questioned her, since she had no gloves on the scene of the crime. Later on, she discovers a haunted link to her past, when he's been identified as Richard Stark, the same person who tried to rape her. And she couldn't stop thinking about the other girl who she tried to find help for back then. As Jake and Miranda become closer as intimate lovers, and her brother reaches out to her about her no-good mother, it had put her in a quandary. While she confides in her best friend Summer who bartends at her own bar, things go bad to worse as new daunting evidence turn up with another blast from her past wounded up dead. As Cadwell turns up the heat on her, she put together the pieces from that one night and waits for it to clink it. In the end, when thought she had it figured out, Miranda never believed how close she was and who had done it and why.

This was another mind-blowing and twisted new thriller from Erica Spindler. This one would leave you in suspense straight in the end. I did care for Miranda and Summer. I loved how she took charge of the situation, when she might've crossed the line a few times. I did think Jake was a stud muffin who cared about Miranda and how he lent her a hand. I really loved the picturesque and vibrant eye-catching scenic locations in Harmony, Louisiana. It had put me right there in the action, front and center. This would make you out of breath, gasp, groan, swoon, and perhaps hold onto your seats with non-stop action, suspense, intrigue, and a spark of romance along the way.

Will you remember who the Other Girl is today?

Chances Are

In Erica Spindler's Chances Are,  the first installment in the Opposites Attract romance series, this classic and early romance will have you wrapped around your fingers and believing in chances. For Brandon Rhodes, he just buried his father at his funeral. As he owned his father's company, a secret came with it that would change lives. When he met Veronique Delacroix, he became fascinated and smitten with her. She was like an intoxicating addiction when you need to have a fix on it. Veronique never met her father, while she became under scrutinized from her father's hateful stare. She may be a wild woman, but she couldn't stand him one set. When she met Brandon, she couldn't stop herself from wanting him for herself. And when Brandon discovered a shocking family secret, he didn't know what to do about it. After that engagement announcement was written in the papers, they put on a charade to shock New Orleans. But when they began to fall in love with each other, it became real, until the secret was out. She didn't want his money when she needed him to take a chance on her love. In the ending, they had gotten what they ever wanted and where it should be from the start.

This was a fascinating classic romance from Erica Spindler. I cared about Brandon and Veronique's story about how they were meant to be together as they defied their odds. I despised Jerome for everything he stood for and was glad he had gotten his comeuppance in the end from Marie.  I loved how a magical twist of fate had brought them together to set things up in the story. I loved the New Orleans settings and the scenic locations in every season. This would make you want to take a gamble on love and see where the chips or dice fall. This has romance, drama, non-stop action and a hint of intrigue.

Will you take a chance on Chances Are?

Triple Six

In Erica Spindler's Triple Six, the second installment in the Lightkeepers Paranormal Thriller series, the battle between good and evil, dark and light rage on in this compelling gripping thriller. Months later, after Detective Michaela "Mad Dog" Dare was injured on their first fight against the Dark Bearer, she had questions that she needed the answers for. Back on her feet on the next case, they deal with home invasions across the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Angel meets and gets rescued by a man named Seth, who she fells in love for. But both Micki and her partner Detective Zach Harris are both leery and wary about. As she's drawn into his embraces and meets his uncle Will, the case heats up for Micki and Zach, when they have possible leads and suspects, which hit a dead end, literary. As they get closer to the truth, Angel's turns against them, not know who's drawn her into a deadly web of her own. When it dawned to her, it would be too late, until it would come crashing down on her with a shocking ending.

This was another explosive installment into the paranormal thriller series. I really continued to care for Micki and Zach and worried about Angel. I felt compelled to read more and drawn on how she became tangled into an otherwordly web. I loved the New Orleans scenery and gripping locations, especially with the epic battle of good vs evil. This cross-genre of paranormal elements in a mind-blowing thriller will take you for a wild ride with drama, non-stop action, plenty of suspense and a hint of intriguing romance from start to finish.

Will you watch your step with Triple Six?

The First Wife

In Erica Spindler's The First Wife, this was an excellent standalone thriller that deals with family secrets and deceptions. For Bailey Browne, she met and fell in love with Logan Abbott on her summer vacation. Instantly and on impulse, she agreed to marry him and move to his horse ranch in Wholesome, Louisiana.  Little did she know what she had gotten herself into in that small town.  She came across his sister, Raine, his best friend Paul, his trainer August. But it all started with her accident from her horse and the dreadful secret she couldn't remember. She learned about his first wife who disappeared and the others who came before and after her. Embroiled into a sickening plot on one Sheriff Williams who has it in for Logan with revenge, she learns more harrowing secrets and discovered the truth on her own. That the answers she had in front of her was someone she trusted and cared for, who had an ax to grind of his own.

This was another excellent thriller from Erica Spindler. I loved the horse riding theme and the central location of Wholesome, Louisiana, and how it's set on a horse ranch. I cared for Bailey and Logan's love story and how they tried to find some happiness of their own. I didn't care for Billy Ray much and I despised Paul with a passion. I loved how they propelled us into plenty of non-stop action, nail-biting drama, and plenty of heart-wrenching twists and turns along the way and straight to the end.

The Final Seven

In Erica Spindler's The Final Seven, the Lightkeepers paranormal thriller series, she created a new world when good versus evil in this new thrilling series. For NOPD Michaela "Micki" Dare who goes by "Mad Dog", she didn't need a new partner like Agent Zachary Harris from California. But when they were paired up, they were in for a surprise at their first crime scene. From there, Micki learned first hand about Zach's magical powers as a "Sixer", a special task force from the FBI. From the first abduction teen to another, they didn't expect to tackle a dark force that's out of the world, when Micki and Zach have an unstoppable bond from one another in this powerful paranormal thriller with a shocking conclusion from start to finish in the end.

This was a phenomenal new series debut from Erica Spindler. Even if she had decide to go the self-publishing route for this series only, this had a great combination of thriller with the paranormal. I loved the pair of Dare and Harris, two different sides of the coin, when they worked together to fight good and evil to solve crimes in their home turf of New Orleans. I cared about Micki, who was dealt with a blow of losing her husband and getting a new partner. I thought Zach was an unique guy and special on his own. New Orleans was a great central place for location and settings alone in this excellent thriller with non-stop action, drama, suspense, and some paranormal shockers.

Special review: Justice for Sara from August 2013

Erica Spindler was back with her latest thriller that came out last summer. In Justice for Sara, we were introduced to Katherine "Kat" McCall who returned back to her small town of Liberty, Louisiana, ten years after the brutal death of her older sister. And it wasn't easy, when everyone was out to get her, when she was acquitted for her sister's death and moved away. While she looked to have a brand new start for her bakery business, old friends and foes made it hard on her. With Sergeant Luke Tanner on her side for her own ally, these two had a powerful chemistry together that was explosive. Together, they uncovered the truth of her sister's death and who killed a police officer on the same night. The closer she was to the truth, the more attempts were on her life to drive her away. In a small town, she discovered the hard truth on who was a friend or her foe with lies, and a devastating mind-blowing family secret that imploded right open. In the end, she did get justice for her sister and wouldn't ever look back again.

Once again, I was in shock and awe with the drama and intense action in this thriller.  I loved the driving force for Kat to clear her name on her sister's murder. I was glad that she had Luke on her side, when her own former town and friends were against her. I hated her cousins and her former ex-boyfriend and best friend who wanted to do her in. In the end, I was glad she was vindicated and started over with a new life.

Slices of Night

In Slices of Night from three best-selling authors Erica Spindler, JT Ellison, and Alex Kava, they come together in a thrilling novella that would shock and scintillate you with their best-selling leads.  It all started out in New Orleans, when NOPD Detective Stacy Killian, from Erica Spindler's Stacy Killian series, was first on the scene of a killer who killed two homeless people, one of them a teen mother. Stacy also dealt with her miscarriage, when this mini case hit close to her. Then the killer headed over to Nashville, Tennessee, when he also made honed in on two targets, one of them close to him who knew his identity. For Taylor Jackson, from JT Ellison's Taylor Jackson series, newly engaged to FBI Profiler John Baldwin, she discovered the same kills there and tracked him down with CODIS for his past kills. Finally, it ended in Kansas City, Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska, when FBI Profiler Maggie O'Dell, from Alex Kava's Maggie O'Dell series, tied the trio of cases together, while she recovered from her own injuries from the past case. Three times the thrills in one whopping thriller novella.

For this thriller, I enjoyed the collaboration of one cases with three mini stories that linked together. Across the country, they all took you on a thrill ride with an evil menacing serial killer. All roads lead back to him on this triple treat of thrills and chills, when the trail of his crimes happen at night. For the first page to the last, this would grip and hook you in one setting. They also collaborated in another novella, Storm Season, too.

Blood Vines

Erica Spindler thrilled and chilled us, once again, in Blood Vines. Alex Clarkson had been experiencing haunting nightmares from her past childhood. It'd been buried in her deep subconscious. But this all started, when a baby was found buried in a vineyard in wine country. It connected the case to a 25-year-old disappearance of a baby. She was thrown in a mystery of family secrets of her mother's life, while she searched for the identity of her father. And when she arrived in wine country, danger and death followed her. We really could see Alex struggling with her own identity and her past, while she found new relationships of another kind. And someone had it in for her to stay silent on what she knew, while she reconnected with her family and found new love with Dan Reed. And the closer to the truth of what happened back then, she was closer to go into too deep to remember...

I love the backdrop of wine country in Napa California. I really felt sorrow for Alex for losing her mother and then learning about her baby brother's death. We really do get adsorbed in the storyline and learn lots about the wine-making process in a factory. I was proud of Dan by sticking by her side and defying his parent's orders, since it would brought up trouble. I was glad she found her birth father and her half-sister in the end and had gotten justice for her brother's murder. The scenes in the caves at the winery were hard-hitting and disturbing, but powerful, too.

Watch Me Die

The latest from Erica Spindler is a must read for any season! In Watch Me Die, Mira Gallier, a widow who restored colored glass windows, was living a hard life. During Hurricane Katrina, her husband Jeff was presumed dead from the hurricane, and her in-laws were out for blood. But someone else was after her, targeting people near her, leaving cryptic Biblical messages on the scene, and perhaps making her crazy. When NOPD Spencer Malone and his new partner, Karin Bayle was on the scene, they questioned everyone, including Mira, and her close friend, Connor Scott. One by one, someone was killing people who had a connection to her. And before she knew it, things unravel at the scene, as the deaths piled up. Malone was suspicious of his new partner's behavior, and Mira didn't know who to trust anymore. When it dawned to her, it was too late, before the killer was close to her, someone she knew after all this time.  What a rush!

This was a fantastic thriller that gripped me on the first page.  Very intriguing and suspenseful, I really did feel for Mira and her agony, while she still grieved the loss of her husband Jeff. I didn't like her former in-laws much. I liked how Spencer Malone returned in this novel as a secondary character, when we can feel his concerns on his new partner. I didn't like one of Mira's closest friends who used his vulnerability for his wicked gains. Overall, this is one of the best thrillers ever!

Red is an ugly color

If you loved Big Girl by Danielle Steel, you'll love Red by Erica Spindler. Before she was a best-selling thriller author, she was in romantic suspense. Like Big Girl, this dealt with loving yourself for you who are, and it didn't matter what anyone else thought. It's also about fashion, photography and modeling. Becky Lynn Lee was poor and ugly from Mississippi, who came from a broken home and a group rape, when she escaped to California for a new life. Jack Gallagher wanted recognition from his father, when his treated his other son better. Both rage and fury brought Becky and Jack together in California, as they worked together and take on the world, with tons of obstacles in the way. When they fall in love, things were complicated, as they were thrown for a loop as the years fall by. In the end, they let go of the past and move on.

This romantic suspense was beautiful, heartfelt and moving at the same time. While she took a break from his thrillers, this was a touching story. I cried throughout it and felt the same things as Becky did, when she was mistreated in her youth and how she wanted to make a fresh new start. I loved how Jack cared for her, while he found from his own personal demons. They went through a lot, past and present, to get together and have a future of their own. What a beautiful story!

Breakneck

In this sequel of Copycat, Kitt and M.C. returned in Erica Spindler's Breakneck. In the second installment of the Kitt Lundgren series, when Matt Martin was killed, it was up to the detectives to find out why. When it hit close to home for M.C. twice, they tried to connect the dots, especially when the FBI was involved. Enthralled into a net of cyber-thieves, it was now up to Lundgren and Riggio who was in charge of it all. In the middle of winter, it was up to Kitt, who was trying to resuscitate her marriage, and M.C., who was personally involved into this mess, to work together as a team, right to the end. Lots of action-packed chapters to keep you guessing to the very end.

This was another shocking good thriller, when it dealt with cyber-crime. We continue to care more for MC and Kitt, who were both going through some hard time and tough decisions in their lives. Once again, Kitt wanted more redemption in her career and fix things that were once broken in her life. For MC, she'd been dealt a hard blow in her life. I cried when she lost her fiancé, and when there was some friction between Joe and Kitt. I also grieved for Matt Martin's family as well. I felt all sorts of mixed emotions in this novel.

Ready, set, go! If you're hungry for more, check out a copy of this thriller right now!
