You Have a Match

    In this blog post, I reviewed Emma Lord’s You Have a Match. This YA romcom is warm-hearted and a tear-jerker with a couple of good laughs. For Abby Day, it all started when she did a DNA project with her two best friends, Connie and Leo. And then it snowballed from there when she discovered a shocking secret: she had a sister somewhere named Savannah and connected to her to have a hook-up. While she withheld this nugget of truth from Leo, who had no luck discovering his ancestral secrets, she met Savvy, who looked like her, and has a huge Instagram following for health and fitness. Though she’s been having a hard time at school with her grades, she hid the truth from her parents and decided not to go to summer school, though she loved taking photos of nature around her. Though she had a huge crush on her best friend Leo, she didn’t know if he felt the same way about her, and followed him to Camp Reynolds. While she was there, she’d gotten closer to know more about Savvy and the hidden truth on how their parents knew about each other. She had made new friends, had made a few laughs, and done well in her classes there while she avoided getting into trouble. But when her parents discovered their little secret, it was up to Savvy and herself to find out what caused the rift between them. Before she left camp, would she discover how Leo had truly felt about her too?

This delightful YA romcom was compelling and heartfelt about friendship, love, and family. I cared for Abby and Savvy, two different split peas in the pod, while Abby had felt her true talent in photography and become her own person. . I loved the diversity of Savvy being gay and Leo being Filipino. The location of Camp Reynolds in the SeaTac area from the cabins to the Make Out Rock and beyond. It was picturesque and magnificent for the scenic settings. The theme of the story is being true to yourself, and family comes from different places.

This funny YA romcom is perfect for everyone to read. I rated this book, five out of five stars, because it was terrific hands-down. . If you love heart-stopping and heart-warming YA romcoms with plenty of romantic action, lots of suspenseful drama, and a bundle of goose-pimpling laughs, You Have a Match is right up your alley. This book is recommended for fans of delightful romcom movies for YA and Adult, Hallmark Channel, and Auriane Desombre’s I Think I Love You.

Close to You

    In this blog post, I reviewed Kristen Proby’s Close to You, the second installment in the Fusion contemporary romance series. This love story will have your heart swoon and make you laugh in stitches. For Cami LaRue, she had the biggest crush on her best friend’s brother for a long time. When she was a teen, he went away to the Navy for a decade as a pilot. Now since he was home and back into her life, she wanted to mince words with him. Later on, their friendship had blossomed into something wonderful when they both revealed feelings for each other. They took their newfound relationship when they dated and went through some unexpected life-challenges along the way. For Landon, he loved flying planes for the Navy. Until he ended up injured on a mission, he recovered back home and faced Cami, the only woman he ever wanted and stole her heart. In the meantime, he became a central focus point into her life and being there for whenever she needed him. Now since he had found Cami, he never wanted to leave Portland for the longest time and found home with her. But when they dealt with an unexpected blow, they worked through the issues together and found out they were meant to be together forever.

This heartfelt  contemporary romance is truly wonderfully written and moves your heart. This  romance has all the right ingredients for a great love story. I I cared for Cami, who loves her work at the restaurant, and had issues with Scoot, a wilty cat. I loved how she cared for her nephew and having fun with her besties. I adored Landon Palazzo, and loved how he took care of her and all of her needs, even if he dealt with her cat Scoot. The location in Portland Oregon was loveswept with mesmerizing scenic settings to take you places.The theme of the story is absence makes the heart grow fonder and stronger with every heartbeat.

This endearing contemporary romance is top-notch and perfect for a steamy Love story. I rated this book, four out of five stars, because it was an emotional read.  If you love romances with non-stop romantic action, plenty of romantic drama, and heart-stopping intrigue, Close to You should be added to your TBR list. This book is recommended for fans who love Hallmark Channel movies, Kristan Higgins, Jennifer Probst, and other romance novels.

Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch

  In Carolyn Brown’s Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch, the first installment in the Ryan family contemporary romance series, this sweet second chance friends-to-lovers love story about Addy and Jesse warms your heart.  After twenty years with the Air Force as a medic, Jesse Ryan returns home to Honey Grove, Texas, to return to his family’s ranch. But he runs into Addison Hall, his childhood best friend Addison Hall, and his daughter Mia, he didn’t know he had with her in an on-night stand. While he returns to ranching, he gets to know Mia, who’s a bit rebellious in nature, and sparks ignite and fly between him and Addy. As his father’s live-in nurse, Addison kept Mia a secret for him and didn’t want it to ruin his dreams. While she managed to be a single mother for so long, she kept her friends for him a secret, though it did run rampant every time he kissed her or touched her. While they did with family business in the small town, they’ve gotten to get past Mia’s wild side and the town gossip, they’ve had to follow their hearts to get the happiness they truly deserved and wanted for so long.

This was a beautiful love story that pulled at my heart strings and feel deep emotions about this second chance romance. I adored Jesse on how he dealt with the situation about learning about Mia and taken hold of the situation at his home ranch. I loved how he wanted to stay close at home and be where he belonged with Addy. He never left anybody ruffle his feathers. And I loved how Addy remained devoted to the Ryan family and took care of Sonny and how she wanted Mia to care for Jesse like she did. They do work well together and made a great team. I really liked the small town of Honey Grove, Texas, and the ranch settings of working with alpacas, sheep, and other livestock. It made me want to visit the place by picturing myself there. The theme of the story is everyone deserves a second chance to find their true love, even as friends.

I couldn’t find anything negative to say about it since this was a beautiful heartfelt contemporary romance. I rated this book, four out of five stars, because of a couple of minor glaring errors on misused dialogue tags and internal thoughts on my e-arc from last summer. This is recommended to everyone who loves to read second chance contemporary romance novels or Hallmark movies. If you love heart-stopping sweet contemporary romances with non-stop action, plenty of romantic drama, lots of sparks, and a dose of heat, you'll stop by for a visit at Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch.
