You Don't Know Me

In Sara Foster's You Don't Know Me, this psychological thriller will leave you gasping for air and chilled all over in the end. For Noah Carruso, he worked in his family's restaurant in Sydney and lived in fear of his brother Tom's shadow. Over a decade ago, Lizzie Burdett's, Tom's girlfriend disappeared and never to be seen again. When an inquest pops up and a true crime podcast reporting the mystery, it drudged up painful memories on that fateful night when he was fifteen. On vacation in Thailand, he bumps into a woman named  Alice Pryce, who looked similarly to Lizzie with her red hair. She's an ESL teacher there and escaped from her painful past with her own burden to share. Their relationship was magical and blissful when they shared memories together. But when Noah's called back home to help out with the inquest, they parted. For Alice, she lived in fear and stayed in Thailand, her father was behind bars for a crime. The haunting memories of that faithful night when danger loomed and targeted them. When she receives a call about her father's health condition in Sydney, she returns home and reunites with Noah, revealing a partial truth of the past, bridging them closer together and meets his family. Together, they faced the demons that shrouded them with dread. When Noah's brother returns home for the inquest, he learns things haven't changed and new questions resurface on what happened. When it was Noah's turn to testify, he revealed all, suspicion, curiosity and blame. And when someone threatened their restaurant with a bomb scare, he discovers the shocking truth about that night and who'd done it..someone closer to home. But in the end, it couldn't face seeing Alice until they meet again.

This thriller had plenty twists and turns to keep you guessing in every page. I cared for Noah who worked his butt off for his father, who never cared a wit about him. He always felt pressured to do right by him, until he escaped on his Thai vacation and met Alice. And she changed him for the better, until the past reared its ugly head with the inquest. I also loved Alice, who was also dealing with a bum wrap with his father's medical condition. I loved that she cared for Noah, though it might break her heart later. I loved the dual locations of Thailand and Australia with lovely lush scenic settings to transport there where the action took place. The theme is to let go of the past and live in the present to seek a better future. One way or another, the truth would come out.

If you love non-stop action, plenty of suspenseful drama, lots of intrigue, and a great novel to take your breath away, sink your teeth into You Don't Know Me today.
