Puppy Kisses

In Lucy Gilmore's Puppy Kisses, the third installment in the  Forever Home Western contemporary romance series, this heart-warming romance will have you heart thump like a happy puppy's tail. Dawn Vasquez always means serious business. It all started when she rescued a golden retriever from his owner and taken him to Zeke's brother's ranch for rehabilitation as his service dog. That dog fought for her life if it wasn't for dawn. Adam Dearborn had always lived his life as a rancher, even if he was visually impaired and used a cane to get around the ranch. But when Dawn brought Gigi, the golden retriever, onto his ranch, he knew she was nothing but trouble, when she always had a way to get under his skin and make his sweat. While she trained Gigi to be his service dog, she didn't think Gigi was cut out for the dog when Uncle, a Great Dog, fit the job well. During the next couple of weeks, they've gotten close together and the chemistry between them was red-hot. She placed her heart and soul to help Adam have the perfect service dog and want her to love her just the way she is. When he rebuffed her feelings, she came up with a plan to tell Adam how she felt by placing her proverbial cards on the table and putting her life on the line to call his bluff. In the end, she received a happy ending including her man Adam.

This was a delightful contemporary romance that has a Western twist to it. I cared for Dawn and how she's a risk-taker and gets what she wants in the end. I loved how she rescues dogs and cares for them by training them to be service animals. I loved how she wouldn't mind going out of her way, including getting her boots dirty in the process or stepping into cow manure. I loved how Adam didn't let his visual impairment interfere with his ranching duties on the ranch, or to lasso Dawn as his woman. I loved how diverse the cast is with Adam's blindness and Dawn and her sisters being Hispanic. It's so rare to see these types of characters being portrayed in the literary world. Dawn the cow was a hoot, and Gigi and Uncle did steal parts of the show. I loved the Western settings being depicted in Oregon and how the ranch life  filled the scenic locations very well. The main theme is to treat animals for kindness and toe the line to follow your heart to fulfill your dreams.

If you love romances that features adorable puppies with non-stop action, plenty of drama, lots of sizzling romance, and plenty of suspense to keep you hooked straight to the end, you'll love Puppy Kisses.
