In this book review blog post, I reviewed Sara Lotz’s The Impossible Us. This romcom is unique and twisted with some hilarious moments in it. It all started when Nick Belcher accidentally emailed Bee Davis by mistake. And that started a chain reaction of incidental events in London. When they tried to meet each other, they found it was impossible, like something or someone was holding them back. Except for the fact, they shared the same interests, only time via a different portal in the real world separated them, until they discovered there’s an alternate universe with a future or present version of them. As they tempted fate to chase after those alternate versions of each other, fate continued to intervene and complicate things between them with a shocking ending.
This extraordinary romcom would have you gasping on every turned page. Told from both Bee and Nick’s POVs, I instantly connected with both characters, which they tried to make things work between them against all odds. I fell in love with them every step of the way. They both discovered hidden gems within each other, though they couldn’t be together. I loved the English locations and settings, and the captivating scenery in both time periods.. The theme of the story is true love will find a way home against the twisted hand of time.
If you love compelling romcoms with plenty of intrigue and twisted turns, you’ll love The Impossible Us. This novel is recommended for fans who love Hallmark movies, the Outlander series, and British romcoms..
