Fashion, Lies and Murder

In Sibel Hodge's Fashion, Lies and Murder, the first installment in the Amber Fox humorous cozy mystery series, this debut will have you laughing in stitches and strike a pose in your TBR list. After Amber Fox was kicked off the force for a shooting range incident against her nemesis, she's forced to work for her ex-fiancĂ© Bradley Beckett as an insurance investigator for his company, Hi-Tec. Her first assignment was to plant some cameras in the fashion offices of Umberto Fandango. But things aren't what they seem, when he later turns out missing. It's up for Amber to put the pieces together and get to down more about his life and his fashion career. When she wanted to meet his assistant Heather Brown, she turns up missing and then later dead. While she wanted to best her nemesis DSI Janice Skipper,  she tries her best to be ahead of the rest to dodge some goons, get assistance from her cross-dressing father who's going undercover for the Neighborhood Watch, and connect the dots from her current cases to solve this puzzle. In the end, she learns the hidden truth about Umberto's past and fights for her life to get justice done.

If you love Carl Hiassen's comedic mystery series, I think you would also enjoy this one too. I instantly cared for Amber and her hot romance with Romeo. She's a hoot and most definitely fights for the underdog like herself to set things right. I do think Brad has caring feelings for her and was a great guy to let her work for him. I do like Hacker and Tia as well, though Janice got what she righteously deserved.  I do like the scenic locations throughout London with gripping settings to make things come to live. This would make you cry happy tears and laugh out loud, snort, and shake your heads a few times with a couple of gasping sighs straight to the end.

Will you walk the runway in Fashion, Lies and Murder tonight?
