The Cracked Spine

In Paige Shelton's The Cracked Spine, the first installment in the Scottish Bookshop Mystery, this remarkable new cozy series debut will take you straight to Scotland. When Delaney Nichols lost her job, she found a job listing to work at a bookshop in Edinburgh, Scotland, and spoken to the owner, Edwin MacAllister. Upon acceptance, she flew from Wichita Kansas to Scotland to start her new adventurous journey there. When she arrived, she met her fellow new colleagues at the Cracked Spine, a vintage bookstore, and learned about the ins and outs of rare collectible book finds. During her arrival, she learned that Edwin's sister Jenny had been missing and then later found dead. The Metro Police interviewed Edwin and everyone who worked at the bookstore and inquired on her behavior. Everyone was a suspect. While Delaney learned more about the store, she did become smitten by a Scottish pub owner named Tom Fletcher, and then took a tour around Scotland even to where Jenny lived in the dangerous neighborhood. She snooped around and asked Jenny's former neighbors and Edwin's closest friends for clues on Jenny as she solved a complex puzzle. When a fellow colleague turned up missing, Delaney followed her hunch and lead her to where she might find a clue to where it all started in a fierce face-off with the killer.

This was a terrific new cozy series debut that's set in the heart of Scotland. You really get your own virtual tour of Scottish highlands and closes as Delaney learns about the Scotch culture.  The scenic settings were magnificent and mesmerizing at every vivid location to the bookstore and beyond. I did care for Delaney and how she set out for an adventure in her brave new world. I could see a possible love connection between her and Tom and maybe with Inspector Winters to cause a triangle. I loved how she's red-haired and freckled and loved to learn about vintage collectible books and what makes them valuable. This would make you want to play the bagpipes and wear a kilt with non-stop action, intense drama, plenty of mystery and a sense of action.

Fruit of All Evil

In Paige Shelton's Fruit of All Evil, the 2nd installment in the Farmer's Market Mystery series, this one would send you goosebumps and break you in a cold sweat. Becca Robins was back to solve another crime, when it hit close at home. As "Number One" for her fellow vendor friend Linda, she helped set up a surprise wedding for her, before her fiancé has to go overseas in the military. But stop the press, after Madeline Forsyth had arranged for everyone to meet in an impromptu dinner party, she was late to the party... because she was murdered in her own home. Now it was up to Becca to find out who done it and why, when she examined everyone who feared Madeline and learned some shocking twisted truths at the bank and from Drew's own family. Before she knew, she learned who had done it and why, before it was too late for her.

This was another intriguing culinary cozy from Paige Shelton. I'm really enjoying the Farmer's Market mystery series. I do care about Ian and Becca as a couple, though I do see a love triangle happening between Ian, Becca and Sam. I didn't like Drew's cousins one bit, except for Sally, since they all creeped me out for one reason or another. I do like the farmer's market series set in South Carolina for the scenic locations for the settings. This would  make you drop your jaw and leave you rendered speechless in the end. Great drama, good non-stop action with delicious recipes to do at home, intrigue and plenty of mystery.

Farm Fresh Murder

In Paige Shelton's Farm Fresh Murder, the first installment in the Farmers Market's series, you'll be enticed into this new culinary cozy series debut. Becca Robins who was a farmer who made berry and pumpkin preserves at Bailey's Market. When word comes down that Matt Simonsen was murdered, everyone was a suspect, including herself and her twin Allison. She butted  head with Sam Brion, the police officer on the scene, and had feelings for Ian Cartwright, an artist who was a decade younger and clad with tattoos. There was chemistry between them. But for Becca, one of her friends was accused for murder. So now it's up to  her to figure it out, one by one. After a couple of close calls, she came closer to the truth that she thought, when she uncovered an old history of family secrets and former friendships. A great cozy with yummy recipes.

This was a compelling new culinary cozy fresh recipes you can make at home.  I really cared about Becca and Allison and became intrigued into her feelings for Ian. I really enjoyed the farmer's market area and location in South Carolina with great scenic settings of a rural small town. This would entice you, thrill you and excite you, all in the same time. Great drama, non-stop action with hints of suspense, intrigue, romance and mystery.
