There's some kind of fascination with her that made her want to get closer to her. But Ash's world is about to come back down and turn dangerous and deadly, when the truth could come about her and her true identity. In the end, she would have to free herself and expose the secret before someone like herself would get her in the crossfire of her worst enemy... someone close to her who would do anything to get her own way... even commit murder.

From start to finish, this fantastic novel give me goosebumps and shivers down my spine. I cared for "Ash" and how she wanted to make a name for herself in Goode. I did feel bad that her parents treated her badly and how she wanted to escape from it. I did feel curious about Camille's dark secret and how Dean Westhaven had found love as a "cougar" with a younger man. I loved the intricate backdrop of how this academy housed dark secrets about murder and missing lost urban and mythical legends. The scenic settings in Marchburg made it the perfect location to set the scenes for the story. The theme is secrets have a way on coming out when you least expect it. Also it's being kind to others, no matter who they are when they crossed paths in your life.

The End Game

In Catherine Coulter's and JT Ellison's The End Game, the third installment in the A Brit in the FBI thriller series, this thriller had all the elements of a dark and compelling, gritty thriller. For FBI Agent Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine, it all started with an explosion of an oil refinery and lead them to the trail of an eco-terrorist group, the Celebrants of Earth, who were against the Middle Eastern countries who support terrorism and gives us oil for gasoline. From there, it gets complicated, when there was a terrorist in the midst and a mess, when some of their agents were killed in the explosion. It was up to them to follow the electronic paper trail to a cyber-attack and blackout, with threats that went up to the White House. While Michaela and Nicholas team up with Savich and Sherlock, they knew they had chemistry together. They were many twists and turns in the end that they didn't see coming, right to the end.

This was a fantastic and mind-blowing thriller in the series, though I haven't read the other two books in the series. I loved the chemistry Mike and Nick had as partners and as lovers. I loved the eco-terrorism plot element with a hint of political thriller thrown inside with current events. I loved the vast array of USA locations, especially along the East Coast. This would leave you hanging at the edge of your seat from start to finish with excellent drama, suspense, intrigue and non-stop action on every page.

What Lies Behind

In J.T. Ellison's What Lies Behind, the 4th installment in the Samantha Owens thriller series, get ready to be at the edge of the seat for this thrill ride. It all started when Sam woke up to the sound of sirens, which wasn't usual for this former medical examiner. But when Sam and her partner, Detective Daren Fletcher arrived at the crime scene, they believe it might've been staged. As they dug deeper into the investigation, they discover the truth behind the missing vials of a water-borne bio-terror disease that could threaten their water system. As they were called into a meeting of the local politicians, they wanted to know what they've found out, as they were on a manhunt for a killer and a possible leak of who killed one of their own and why someone came close of dying. Worst of all, Sam's boyfriend Xander was stuck in the midst of this crisis, too, until there was a shocking truth revealed in the end.

This was a powerful and extraordinary thriller that dealt with the matter of homegrown bio-terrorism in our own country. I continued to care for Sam and her relationship with Xander as it blossomed and grew into something more... serious. I love the vast locations in Washington D.C. for the settings. This tackled hard core topics and subject matters that we deal about now in our own world. This would make you think and grit your teeth while second-guess anything else. Great drama, excellent non-stop action, plenty of intrigue and suspense with tons of mystery in store of this thriller.

Slices of Night

In Slices of Night from three best-selling authors Erica Spindler, JT Ellison, and Alex Kava, they come together in a thrilling novella that would shock and scintillate you with their best-selling leads.  It all started out in New Orleans, when NOPD Detective Stacy Killian, from Erica Spindler's Stacy Killian series, was first on the scene of a killer who killed two homeless people, one of them a teen mother. Stacy also dealt with her miscarriage, when this mini case hit close to her. Then the killer headed over to Nashville, Tennessee, when he also made honed in on two targets, one of them close to him who knew his identity. For Taylor Jackson, from JT Ellison's Taylor Jackson series, newly engaged to FBI Profiler John Baldwin, she discovered the same kills there and tracked him down with CODIS for his past kills. Finally, it ended in Kansas City, Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska, when FBI Profiler Maggie O'Dell, from Alex Kava's Maggie O'Dell series, tied the trio of cases together, while she recovered from her own injuries from the past case. Three times the thrills in one whopping thriller novella.

For this thriller, I enjoyed the collaboration of one cases with three mini stories that linked together. Across the country, they all took you on a thrill ride with an evil menacing serial killer. All roads lead back to him on this triple treat of thrills and chills, when the trail of his crimes happen at night. For the first page to the last, this would grip and hook you in one setting. They also collaborated in another novella, Storm Season, too.

Edge of Black

In the second installment of the Dr. Sam Owens series, JT.Ellison packed a punch with this enthralling novel in Edge of Black. After losing her family in the flood in Nashville, Sam moved to Washington D.C. to start her new life over. She had a new man in her life and was taken to a new and dangerous adventure. When there was an attack at the Metro train station, it rocked her world. We followed Sam on her darkest case ever, when there was a shade of black. We saw how connected she was to Xander, and what he went through to help her out and to define their blossoming relationship. She learned about a deadly poison that's homegrown to kill in their backyard. From D.C. to Colorado, there were many twists and turns to this thriller with a pummeling backstory as well that will blow you away. They were on the hunt for a bomber. There were so many surprises you didn't see coming.

We could really feel the depth of Sam's loss, when she lost her family in the flood. That heart-breaking sorrow was real on the pages. I felt sad for her, when she had to move and start over in a new town. Xavier was an interesting character with a peculiar family with hippy names.  We do get to see how much he cared about her, his family, and for his heathen environment. There was a strong outreach and outpouring of compassion from his family to her to make her feel one of them own. I cried and was at the edge of my seat in this thriller as well. This would leave you ... breathless.

All the Pretty Girls

If you love thrillers, you'll enjoy this one. Keep your lights on and lock your doors. I was gripped on the first page of this thriller and took deep breaths. You'll be sucked into the drama and place you right into the crime scene. I love the connection between Taylor and John Baldwin.  To describe it mildly would be considered real cold. I loved how Taylor interacted and took charge on her first crime scene cases, while she did double duty. We cared about her and Sam Owens as well. This thriller sent some ice cold chills down my spine as well, too.
